Mamma Mia Pontefract

1st time trying here and came on a friends recommendation.
We were booked in for 7pm and it was very busy so had to wait a little for our table but our orders were taken while waiting and once we were seated our food wasn’t long before it was served.
We all had something different and we all enjoyed. The decor made you feel you were sat in a taverna. However I did think it could have done with having a little spruce up.
The staff were pleasant and friendly and I believe we spoke to the owner who gave us a limoncello with our bill.
All in all a lovely evening out.

Cromwells

Went to Cromwells yesterday we have been there several times before and yes it’s fantastic the cafe is clean, and the employees are friendly but professional. The menu is varied and there is something for everyone. I had ham so much ham it’s unbelievable egg and chips and my friend had scampi and chips we both had Yorkshire tea . We really enjoy our selves.

The Viceroy Of Hemsworth

Having lived in Hemsworth all my life, I can't believe I've never tried this restaurant before. 3 of us had a takeaway of Pilau Rice, Mushroom Rice, Sag Aloo, Onion Bajis, Nan Bread, Chicken Tikka Masala, Chicken Tikka Jalfeazi and I had Chicken Tikka Bhuna. I can honestly say it was the best Tikka Bhuna and Mushroom Rice I've ever had. Chicken was perfect and the overall flavour was sooo nice.
My husband always eats both our leftovers the next day, but there was no way I was letting him have mine this time. Will definitely go again.

Visited for the first time today. Fantastic farm shop. Excellent food in the cafe, and not extortionate prices. Superb desserts. Served by Riley who went above and beyond.

New Jade City

Just had special curry chips and fried rice,got to say it was the best curry I've had in years,loads of meat king prawns pea's mushrooms onions the curry was just how I like it, nice and sweet and not hot and peppery very generous portions it's the first time I've been and it won't be the last,i would highly recommend this place ???❤️

Gelato Creamery Pontefract

Nutella waffles, it's all about that perfect balance between the warm, fluffy waffle and the rich, creamy Nutella weffle. It was delicious. Hope will see you again☺️?

La Rokka Mediterranean Kitchen

We have been here before and the food was OK but this time the food was the best we've had anywhere. We had the calzone la rokka and the Kiev calzone, soo tasty. Compliments to the chef.

Chip Pan

Just moved nearby and heard good things about this spot, decided to try and was expecting some nice fish and chips but what I had was the best fish and chips i'd had in years, fish was very fresh and reminded me of seaside fish and chips but without the skin, i'm fussy with chips so normally order just a special but thought I would try theirs too and these are exactly to my liking. Portion size is big enough and staff are friendly and polite. Already can't wait to go back, this chippy is going to cost me a fortune I can just see it.

Hill Top Cafe & Deli

Me and my mum always visit this cafe maybe once a week. Food is delicious every time and served with a smile. The last visit on 28/08/2024 I noticed some dipping boxes in the chiller, I bought the biscoff brownies. Oh my days!!!! Absolutely to die for! The nicest brownie me and my family have ever tasted!!! Well done ladies!!! Love to you all x

Ego at The Beverley Arms, Ackworth

first time visiting today, can highly recommend, food was lovely, I had goats cheese starter, only negative it needed more of a sauce, was a bit dry so more juice with the pears.. other than that we both loved both starters and mains.. staff were lovely, friendly, left you in peace to eat your meals and didn't come and ask you if everything was OK when you had a mouthful, we will definitely be going back.. so much more to try!! Thank you

Shummi Chinese Takeaway

Fast delivery, food was piping hot.Sweet and sour chicken balls, the batter was crisp and delicious, the chicken was cooked well but there were a couple of hard ends on a couple of pieces.The sauce was very nice but didn't look too appealing.Pancake rolls were bloomin' massive! Crisp shell and jam packed, very nice too.Will definitely order again when I'm back in 'Ponty Carlo'.

Pizza & Kebab House

Never leave a review anywhere but always order from here and they deserve 5 stars in my opinion. The food is great, and the ladies behind the counter have great customer service. If ever there is a glitch when ordering online they give me a call to communicate what is going on. The prices are great for what you get too especially with the meal deals.

The Bosphorus Bistro

We recently visited The Bosphorous, it was our first night out since the birth of our son and we had the best night. The food was so tasty and the staff were so friendly, they really took the time to have a proper conversation with us. Best food I’ve eaten in a long time and that’s saying something coming from a classically trained chef.

As Tina Turner once said, "Simply the Best, Better That All the Rest" need I say any more. I have been eating Indian food for 40yrs and can confirm BALTI BAZAAR is THE BEST Indian takeaway within 20 mile of Ackworth. The best outside of Bradford and on par if not better than takeaways in Bradford too. The food is extremely tasty, smells incredible and at a reasonable price for the fantastic quality.
The teambat BALTI BAZAAR cater for all your needs and requests.....jus ask and they will strive to accommodate your needs.
The Chef clearly has outstanding knowledge and skills in Gastronomy. The front of house beautiful lady, Zara is polite, and extremely accurate in taking your order. Even the delivery driver delivers on time and with everything you have ordered, again, is polite and courteous. BALTI BAZAAR is the opitamy of quality from the food, customer service and on time delivery.
I've ordered from BALTI BAZAAR for 16yrs. Within this time, I've tried all other Indian restaurants with the area for a change and to compare. Some nice, some not so but ALWAYS return to BALI BAZAAR because they are SIMPLY THE BEST, BETTER THAN ALL THE REST. Don't waste your time ordering from sub quality standard curry houses, Order from BALTI BAZAAR, give them a call on how you like your food and get ready for the perfect curry.
Hint: Go large so you get more or what you love.

I was starving and needed a kebab to fill my hungry tummy, large portion size was perfect and the kebab was spectacularly tasty with nice crispy chips. Fresh crunchy salad although it would of been nice to have more salad. Defo best kebab in the area and all for a good price, very happy customer ?

Crusty Pizzeria

First time ordering recently as we've just moved in and couldn't be bothered to cook after a long day of unpacking and moving furniture.Can I just say, it was incredible. We only ordered one large meal (with a salad included) to share and it was ample for both of us.Really tasty and hot even though it was delivered. (We looked on the map afterwards and realised that it's just down the road - oops, we'll collect in future).Really impressed and I think that we'll be ordering again and again. 10/10.

theyre busy with lots of competition around, the best mixed kebab with lots of value and good size portion, feeds 2 or 2 meals...cant fault it but do prefer the royal tandoori cuworth with tanddori chicken and fried onions makes that difference. personal preference..

First time visiting in years, was given good review about the home made food, was not disappointed. Good hearty freshly cooked carvery table, help yourself to vegetable warm very tasty, staff were all so really nice and welcoming. Oooo and to top off free pudding included in the price, defo a return visit in order ?

We went in yesterday afternoon for a Sunday roast a treat on Mother's Day for Lindsay me and Lindsay went also our Thomas and his girlfriend Freya and our Harvey and Chloe and we also took our Cooper and Luna we all enjoyed ourselves and the food was nice

Bracken Hill Fisheries

First time having a Chippy T from here after being recommended by a friend and couldn't fault it , service was excellent and the fish n chips n Yorkshire caviar ( mushy peas ) tasted superb and weren't greasy at all , certainly visit again . Service was very quick & efficient to serve up excellent food .

Hilltop Sandwich Bar

Hilltop Sandwich Bar is a very short walk from Knottingley railway station and I would recommend paying a visit if you want some lunch and are in the area. I received a friendly greeting from the lady who served me and I was impressed with the wide range of products available. As well as hot and cold sandwiches they also serve panninis, burgers and salads. There are also hot and cold drinks to be bought. Excellent service!

Been here many many times service is great so helpful even made my coffe for me as I had a little one with me and the atmosphere is good for a lunch time pub lunch but and I hate having to put but after maybe 50 times here I had my first bad meal the eggs benedict wasn't good at all dry salad that was ment fir a rabbit the eggs where over done no yolk at all which is not how yiu want an eggs benedict tge sauce was ok not as silky as it should be a touch grainy but ok i still would recommend eating here just stay away for the eggs benadict everything else is not bad pub grub and very reasonable prices

Hands down best sandwich shop in Pontefract, cannot rate highly enough! Sandwiches are extremely generous with the fillings and excellent value for money great quality produce and the best staff . We always use spoilt for choice and wouldn’t go anywhere else . Collection or delivery they are always top class and blow the rest out of the water . Give them a try you won’t regret it

Pizza Planet

Staff are very polite and friendly and have always asked if we would like donner meat on the mighty meaty pizza which is very nice. Chips are gorgeous. Delivery is spot on. Excellent prices with great deals too,would highly recommend trying.
