Woodcock Hill, Felbridge, East GrinsteadI've had the pleasure of staying here whilst travelling for work, on a number of occasions. I always check if I might be nearby! Rooms are good for an overnight stay. The restaurant is fantastic. Food is WOW! Staff are really friendly and helpful (to someone new to Nepalese food). I have my favourite when I'm home in Manchester, but this has to be my favourite in the south. Always a good atmosphere. Fully licensed to serve alcohol.

The Old Dunnings Mill
Dunning's Rd, East GrinsteadAbsolutely love this pub/restaurant. Just on the southern outskirts of East Grinstead, excellent for walks and exploring, the pub is large but nevertheless feels warm and welcoming. Lots of cosy ‘nooks’ + a lovely large open seating area. The staff are really nice and attentive and the food has always been delicious when we’ve visited. There’s an outdoor space with tables to the front (fenced from the road) as well as a marquee at the back with comfy outdoor furniture, a large TV where sports events are regularly shown + heaters for the colder evenings. Finally, the pub puts on a great calendar of events which, now we’ve actually moved closer, we’ll definitely try to join in on Really recommend this place.
Dietary restrictions: They provide lots of gluten free options and even cater for people with nut allergies
Kid-friendliness: We’ve visited whilst there was a children’s event happening in one of the separate areas (lots of dressing up and balloons around), there’s a bookcase full of kids books to borrow, and also toys. There’s a kids menu and every time we’ve visited there’s been small visitors around too.
Wheelchair accessibility: Although not had to test the facilities ourselves, the pub looks like it would be comfortably able to accommodate wheelchairs - and I believe I’ve seen a sign for disabled facilities

We started with a delicious mezze trio, and for mains, the grilled sea bass and lamb kofta were both fantastic. The staff were friendly and attentive, making the whole experience enjoyable. The passion fruit white chocolate parfait for dessert was the perfect finish and when we found out it was made from scratch we was very impressed. Highly recommend this spot I believe it to be the best in East Grinsted.Dietary restrictions: Clear on the menu

However, the music was sufficiently loud that it made conversation difficult; and the lighting so poor - "atmosphere", I guess - that nobody could read the menu. I ordered sea bass - there are a lot of bones in sea bass. You can guess how that went. Pro tips: Take a torch - seriously; and think twice about ordering the delicious sea bass.

I booked for my best friend's birthday - afternoon tea and it was Devine the best I had and I love my tea and cake! Owners are amazing couldn't do much more for us, sandwiches to the home made cakes outstanding. Will I back yes. Are we booking again yes. X

I'm not a vegetarian but I always pick the Vege breakfast because its delecious. I have had other set breakfasts in the past and they're all good but the Vege breakfast is just right for me.

The landlord is delightful, a very friendly and helpful chap, makes you feel really welcome - has a nice choice of ales. Highly recommend, if you find yourself in East Grinstead for any reason!

The cod is to die for, big mouthful white chunks, and chips so tasty, and gherkins so juicy, hmm,hmm. And saveloy and fishcakes soooo tasty. WOW!! Love this establishment. The food was great, had great flavour, and presented in a way that was just beautiful and decent size portions. The staff were kind, courteous, and polite and on the ball. No rushing you or hoovering. The decor is amazing. The pods give you a real sense of privacy, and like you're in your own private restaurant. Obviously, you pay a little more but was happy to do so with this quality for sure. Will visit again.

So very, very tasty, full of flavour, and delivered quickly and hot by friendly staff. Once, I went in to Jade when I passed the restaurant, and ordered my food, and the staff were so funny and friendly and helpful. And food really fabulous. Keep it up Jade. Love your food, very authentic, and tasty!! Worth more than 5*! :-)))))

192 London Rd, East GrinsteadIf you're looking for food that’s absolutely god-tier but comes with a price tag that’ll have you reconsidering your life choices, then New Jade Evergreen is the place for you! The food here is out of this world—especially the king prawns with lentil soup and chives. That dish alone is worth selling your soul for, and I’m pretty sure Chef Ping has mastered some kind of culinary magic. Every bite was bursting with flavor, and you can tell he’s got some serious kitchen wizardry going on.
But let me tell you, when the bill came... let’s just say I wasn't prepared. I was so blown away by the food, I forgot to check the prices beforehand, and by the end of the meal, I realized I could barely cover half of it! Things got a little awkward, and before I knew it, I found myself in the back of the restaurant helping Chef Ping wash dishes to cover the rest. Yep, you read that right! As embarrassed as I was, I can’t deny that the punishment fit the crime—I’d do it all over again just to taste that incredible food.
The staff were fantastic, super friendly and understanding despite my "little" mishap. But man, if you’re going to eat here, make sure your wallet is ready for the ride. A huge shout-out to Chef Ping for his incredible culinary knowledge and the team for the top-tier service. Just, you know... bring your credit card, or maybe two

Better parking than any of the other fish and chips shops in East Grinstead - like to make a quick getaway so food does not go cold!
Parking: Nearby public car park is free after 1700 if the few parking places opposite are taken.

112 London Rd, East GrinsteadThe Railway Pub in East Grinstead has seriously stepped up its game, thanks to a new chef who’s completely turned the place around. If you haven’t been in a while, it’s time to give it another go—because the food is next level.
First off, the Buffalo Chicken Burger is a beast. Crispy, juicy chicken absolutely drenched in buffalo sauce, with just the right mix of spice and tang. Add in a toasted brioche bun, fresh toppings, and a killer blue cheese dressing, and you’ve got yourself a proper burger that hits the spot every time.
Then there’s the Sticky Toffee Pudding—easily one of the best I’ve had. Soft, rich sponge cake soaked in warm toffee sauce, with a scoop of creamy vanilla ice cream melting into it. Pure dessert heaven.
With the new chef in charge, the whole menu has had a serious glow-up. Whether you’re after a proper meal or just some top-tier pub food, The Railway Pub is smashing it right now. Highly recommend checking it out!

It's a nice cafe, with food that tasted great, I ordered a breakfast type with an extra addition, it was busy but he food arrived quite quickly time, but a couple of items were not quite as warm as I would like it personally but not a deal breaker. I put it as that could just be down to how busy they were at the time, but the flavours were all there and it was filling and tastey for the price.
Service was good too, especially with it being full they did a great job and were happy to add the extra food. The atmosphere, visually and aesthetically it's lovely place, the seating was very comfortable, the sound carries in there pretty well and very clearly, so it can feel a bit lively during busy times, but I will definitely be coming back again!
(No picture this time sadly, as I was with friends and didn't think to at the time!)

Was sad that it was quite late and had left a scathing review when we thought it had just been left. 20mins later we had someone come to the door with a bottle of wine and the most amazing quality food with them. Very much appreciated and wish we could change our review on Just-Eat but cannot. Ideally we wish it wasn't late in the first place but I appreciate that errors can occur. Thanks again for the delicious food.

32 Railway Approach, East GrinsteadI have had food from here a few times and have always found it to be tasty and well prepared. I have both deliveries and collection’s and the food has always arrived quickly. The lamb vindaloo with coconut rice was especially nice and the kebab rolls are pretty good too. Not sure why this place gets bad reviews as I can’t fault it.
