Lemongrass - Chichester
5-6 St Pancras, ChichesterWe came here from just outside Guildford for lunch for my birthday on 27th hoping that, having come a long way, the food would be good. We need not have worried. We had a lovely friendly welcome and had a seat in the window next to a warm heater. The menu was very varied and took a while to decide and to start we had the mixed starter and then two stir fried dishes and egg rice and everything was perfect including the espressso. There had been a Lemongrass in our village but unfortunately it closed so we had to travel to Chichester but it was the best meal we have had for a very long time and we can't wait to go again.

Phoenix Dining
4 Guildhall St, ChichesterAbsolutely stunning food - freshly prepared, gorgeous intricate flavours, old favourites done well and fabulous new dishes. The team went above and beyond to welcome our large group and we had the loveliest Lunar New Year celebration here. Would absolutely love to return to try other dishes on the menu.As a large group we ordered from the Pre-Theatre menu, and added sharing plates.Everything was beautiful - from the set menu, our group ordered the vegetarian dishes, belly pork, chicken soup, and prawn. Very well presented and tasty. The stand out dish was the rice pudding!Surprisingly filling and great value for money.Vegetarian options: There were only two veg sharing platters and only one starter and main in the set menu. I think there were more options on the a la carte. But they were all delicious and filling.

The Bell Inn
3 Broyle Rd, ChichesterWe booked The Bell inn for a pre-theatre Dinner and was delighted with the experience. I must firstly praise the welcome, the two ladies covering the arrivals and food service were so friendly, attentive and professional we felt at home straight away. The menu is fairly simple but very well thought out so all tastes covered. There is an art to getting this right and The Bell has it spot on. Not having so many options meant the food was prompt, well cooked, hot, plentiful and very tasty. Add to this their very fair pricing, we left having had our faith put back into a British pub meal out (which has been lacking recently). The pub is very well run and I wish them continued success, they deserve it.

Either way they sent me the ribs when they could 45mins later with no charge, if you were not on the phone don’t comment basically calling me a lier, I understand you will have your colleagues back but no need to be rude. The Walnut Tree Bar & Restaurant
Vinnetrow Rd, Runcton, ChichesterA beautiful lunch for a belated mother's day. I hadn't been here for quite a few years so wasn't sure what it would be like now but I was not disappointed. Great menu, food was absolutely beautiful, brilliant and friendly staff and service, and a beautiful country pub with a lovely atmosphere. What more can you want? It was also so lovely to see dogs being welcome.Vegetarian options: My mum is vegan, and although there were no vegan options on the menu they were amazing and do cater for a vegan diet. My mum had a vegan burger which she really enjoyed.Parking: Free parking and plenty of spaces, best to car share if possible as it does get busy at times.Kid-friendliness: Lovely welcoming atmosphere for everyone, young families included. A lovely garden for kids to stretch their legs and be kids in.

The Boulevard East Wittering
40-42 Shore Rd, East Wittering, ChichesterThe restaurant was heaving with customers on a Mothering Sunday morning, but we were lucky not to have a wait for a table, and were offered a choice. Service was quick, efficient, with friendly servers, making us feel welcome. Our cooked breakfasts came with plenty of choices, and everything was cooked nicely. Our two full English included our hot drinks, and I appreciated the option of oat milk for my cappuccino . The coffee was lovely and the value for money was amazing at under £20 for 2.Parking: Plenty of parking at a nearby council car park

Gribble Inn
Gribble Ln, Oving, ChichesterWe asked The Gribble Inn to host a wake for after my dad's funeral. Food and tea a d coffee for 40 people was provided. Everything was ready on time and beautifully presented. The finger food, sandwiches, quiche, sausage rolls and much more all looked hand made and was delicious. Vegetarian and gluten free options were available. Many of the family commented how good it was. There was more than enough for 40 people. The staff were kind and attentive. Nothing was too much trouble. We had plenty of space for everyone. I would highly recommend The Gribble Inn for a function. Very impressed.
