The Parsons Table

2 & 8, Castle Mews, Tarrant St, Arundel

If Google had 6 stars then that would almost be enough to describe our experience of The Parsons Table. The food has always been exceptional, the service more like meeting old, charming, relaxed friends and the atmosphere is made that much better by dining amongst other customers who love it as much as you do. It is just superb and we are trying to find more excuses to return.

We rang ahead as had a couple of people in wheelchairs so wanted to make sure there was space before turning up. They couldn't have been more accommodating! Staff were friendly and attentive, food was good, cafe was clean and prices were very reasonable. Have recommended to a few people since and will definitely be returning!

La Campania

51 High St, Arundel

We recently enjoyed dinner at La Campania, a charming Italian restaurant nestled on High Street in the picturesque town of Arundel. From the moment we stepped inside, the atmosphere was warm and inviting, with a cozy ambiance that made us feel right at home. The interior is tastefully decorated, giving it an authentic Italian feel, perfect for a relaxed evening out.

The service was outstanding—friendly, attentive, and efficient without being overbearing. It was great to see that the restaurant caters to a variety of dietary preferences, including a selection of vegan dishes.

As for the food, it did not disappoint. Every dish we ordered was not only delicious but also beautifully presented. The ingredients tasted fresh, and the flavors were well-balanced, showcasing the best of Italian cuisine. From the appetizers to the main course, each bite was a delightful experience.

Overall, La Campania provided us with a memorable dining experience, and it’s certainly a place we’d recommend, especially for anyone looking for great service and quality food with vegan-friendly choices.

Butlers

We had the most magical, perfect evening at Butlers this week celebrating a big birthday with a group of friends. The dinner was a surprise and the evening couldn't have been bettered! Sasha, Alex and the Butlers team are so warm and welcoming and really do bend over backwards to make every request easy and possible. The food was incredible! Fresh and delicious and met with oohs and ahh's as it came out. The decor here always makes a spoily evening feel twinkly, glam and special. I can't praise them highly enough. Thank you all for a really gorgeous treat. We will be back soon!

10/10- highly recommend. Have been in for lunch before which was excellent. Today I got a takeaway sandwich and a cinnamon bun. The sandwich was incredible- the best of the year by far. Amazing focaccia and ingredients. It’s a lovely small place, beautiful decor, friendly staff, excellent food. I’m excited to try the sourdough I took home. Thank you so much.

Great town pub with a good range of beers and oodles of character. We didn’t have food. We visited on a Friday evening to meet with family and watch the marvellous local R&B band Hot Tamales as The Eagle has a small area for local bands to gig.

Amberley Museum

New Barn Rd, Amberley, Arundel

We had a wonderful day at the Amberley Museum yesterday. Admission prices are reasonable and includes a well-needed map of the very large area. It's mainly, what I would call, an outdoor museum. Full of history and workshops showing exactly what it was like mostly before my time. I was particularly impressed with the TV and Radio exhibition and the working lead craft exhibit. The wood craft area was also impressive. If you are looking for a wooden walking stick or cane, you'll find a wide variety here. There's a cafe for hot/cold food and drinks. Definitely recommend this outdoor museum as a place to see if you enjoy this sort of thing. Lots of nice walks too.

Cockburn's Tea Rooms

Afternoon tea on Arundel’s High St at Cockburn’s will be a cherished memory when my daughter and I return home. The efficient friendly service, cozy and cute setting, and tasty offerings provided a delightful hour’s repast that helped to reset us to Calm English Countryside Mode.

We chose cream tea with plain and fruit scones and added a slice of Victoria sponge as a treat. Our tea selections were Assam and the rose flavored one which really knocked our socks off. It was not at all overpowering, just perfectly perfumed with rose aroma. You can buy tea to take home if you’d like.

If I’m ever lucky enough to be back in the area, I will definitely stop by for another pot at Cockburn’s Tea Rooms.

The Brewhouse Project

Calceto Ln, Lyminster Rd, Arundel

My husband and I had a wonderful time at The Brewhouse Project tonight, we arrived a little early, which was not a problem at all, taking us directly to our seats ‘Upstairs’. The ambiance was relaxed with subtle lighting and a candle on each table. The menu catered for vegetarians. For starter, we had Jerusalem artichokes, I had the Gnocchi, which was the best I have tasted, and my husband had the beetroot main.
We shared the chocolate mousse which was deliciously rich.
It was great to see that a group, who were also dining tonight, were able to bring their dog. Being dog owners ourselves, we are always looking for dog friendly cafes and restaurants, it is certainly somewhere we will bring our dog next time.
The service that we received was very professional and we have a very enjoyable evening.

Motte & Bailey Cafe

Nice place for brunch in Arundel. It was during the town festival when we visited, so the place was packed. We waited a while to be seated and waited 45 minutes for our brunch orders to be served. I guess the surge in customers was not anticipated and prepared for accordingly. Other than that, the washroom is at the basement, so I don't think it is wheelchair accessible. Portions are slightly on the smaller side with a single slice of bread for the veggie english breakfast and additional 2 slices with jam and butter for £4.50.
