After a day's diving at Stoney Cove, we had to find somewhere to eat for 8 of us. (our hotel had let us down. So me and Craig dropped by at 6pm and asked about availability for 8. The lovely lady who met us was struggling to accommodate us, BUT, bent over backwards (figuratively) moving tables around and seated us at 8pm. We REALLY appreciated that.

Most of us had the chef-recommended rump steaks which were gorgeously tasty.

We had great service, great banter and great food in this lovely pub. All the staff were friendly, especially the lady (I wish I knew your name - sorry!) who accommodated us, brought our drinks, took our photo, etc. Thank-you!

The food was absolutely amazing, easily one of the best asian experiences I have tried. The restaurant is beautiful inside, and the staff were extremely polite not only upon our entry but during our whole evening there. Would definitely recommend and go again.

We came here for a drink and a pudding for the grankids. We did not realise that they had 2 different menus for the puddings. One was alot dearer and the cheaper one was not available to us and they had run out if most available and no icecream. The grankids wanted a pudding so was an expensive night.

Fantastic food and value for money, definitely the best cafe in Atherstone by far and a lovely friendly set of ladies behind the counter as well. If you want a fantastic breakfast to sit in or lunch to take away this is the place to come ☺️

We came to the area close to Hurley to buy local produce and afterwards we wanted to find somewhere for eats and drinks. The guy we bought from recommended The Anchor Inn.
"It's a lovely place," he said. "The food is home cooked. It's lovely and not expensive."
We decided to give it a try and how pleased we were. It's a traditional English pub, quite historic too and the food we had, some of it vegan, was lovely. The staff made us feel welcome and the cost of the food was very reasonable.
The Anchor Inn is great, go on . . . give it a try.

We were here for a rest, breakfast, tea, coffee, takeaway cake. Chat with the people running the place. What better could anyone want. Bring your van, push bike, or arrive on foot.The breakfast is fresh, yummy. I will be back.Had a great time there, cheers.It's just about the place, the journey and the planning of the day.

Tuesday lunchtime. One lady. Rushed off her feet. Snapped at me to sit down after waiting to get attention. Said she'd be with me when SHE was ready. Then told me and my two sons we'd be waiting for food as there were others ahead of us waiting. She seemed frazzled and they clearly cannot cope when busy. Went somewhere else.

New management took that place to the next level with a generous, wide and diverse choice of craft beers and ales on tap. It also has amazing traditional pub food like scotch egg and sausage rolls. The refurbishment really kept the old spirit of the pub and you can tell it's been done with taste and knowhow. This is the best pub in the area and became my new favourite. 100% recommend.

A place with a worthy name. Nick and Cal provided the friendly service and were great to chat to. This establishment which has a long history in delivering quality food is definitely worth having a scrumptious meal from. The cod was cooked to perfection with a savouring taste that is delightfully coated with a crisp to perfection batter. Quality makes a difference and they sure know that. Looking forward to ordering from them when I next pop around Atherstone ??

Had takeaway from here twice. Always arrives quickly and driver is friendly. There was an issue due to me accidentally ordering the wrong item tonight. They were very professional and resolved the problem and I am very satisfied. They always send a poppadom, salad and sauce which is an appreciated extra. Thank you. Lots of similar restaurants in the area but I will stick with this restaurant. Prices are quite fair compared to other restaurants too.
