The Dog & Partridge
15 Bleachfield St, AlcesterMy friend and I live at opposite sides of the country and this village was the half-way point. So at random we met at this friendly pub. We had the vegetarian breakfast that was amazing and the kind lady that served us and kept us watered was a lovely host. We were only going to stay for a short while however the atmosphere was so warm (helped with the real fire) that we ended up staying for several hours. Would recommend.Vegetarian options: The vegetarian breakfast was ample, well presented and of tasty quality - though the vegan sausage could do with an upgrade!!Parking: We went there on a Sunday morning and the car park next door was empty - though I understand that it fills up very quickly at other times.

The Roebuck, Alcester
Birmingham Rd, Kings Coughton, AlcesterWe did not stay, so rating for restaurant only. Staff were very attentive and great with my 4 year old daughter, who devoured her fish and chips! They got 2 thumbs up from her! My haddock and spring onion fish cakes were delicious…could have had more of the wilted spinach but a minor improvement only.

Bickies Butties
Arden Rd, AlcesterA Hidden Gem in Alcester's Industrial Estate!Despite its unassuming location, Bickies Butties is serving up some of the best breakfast sandwiches around! We made a special journey just to try their food as a friend had recommended it. I ordered a bacon and egg baguette, which was generously filled with crispy bacon and a perfectly cooked egg. I can genuinely say it was the best bacon sandwich I’ve ever had. What's even more impressive is that despite the challenges posed by the cost of living crisis, Bickies Butties has managed to maintain their competitive prices; a double cheeseburger is only £4, and it was delicious! The service at the window was friendly and efficient, and our order was ready in no time. The only downside is we unfortunately decided to visit on a rainy day, and although we were excited for our food the lack of shelter lowered the level of atmosphere slightly. However, I can imagine in summer it must be a perfect atmosphere waiting in the sun; we will surely be back to experience this! Bosh Byde.

Cafe des Fleurs
3 High St, AlcesterAs I strolled through the sun-dappled streets on a lazy Sunday afternoon, I stumbled upon a charming little haven called Cafe Des Fleurs. Stepping inside, I was instantly transported to a bygone era of vintage France. The cozy atmosphere embraced me like a warm hug, while the soft strains of French melodies from a hidden radio whispered tales of yesteryear.
My eyes danced over the menu, each item more tempting than the last. But it was the dessert that truly captured my heart – a delectable masterpiece that seemed to embody the very essence of this enchanting place.
As I savored each bite, I couldn't help but feel grateful for this serendipitous discovery. Cafe Des Fleurs, thank you for existing and for adding a touch of magic to my sun-soaked Sunday wanderings.

The Holly Bush
37 Henley St, AlcesterSince Red & his wife took over this fine pub a year ago it has got better & better. Music that makes you want to stay & with a decent beer selection. The guest ale is always something to go for of course. The locals are back with a fine age spread from 18 to 80+. The welcome is as warm as the log burner. Life has been breathed into this fine old building & its soul has returned too. When Red & his family are taking a step back from their great front of house work then the other bar staff make you feel just as at home. When the weather allows then head to the sheltered garden too. The previous tenants almost killed the place so ignore reviews from 2021 & before. The Holly Bush is back !!!!!!! Use it ??

China Town
17 High St, AlcesterReally disagree with some of the negative reviews on here. I don’t know what people expect from a Chinese takeaway to be honest (atmosphere while waiting ?)I must have had over 30 orders from here over the last few years, never had a bad dish and all friends and family say it’s the best Chinese they’ve ever had!Always quick service, would recommend!

Alcester Fish Bar
Kinwarton Rd, AlcesterThis is a great chippy! We recently moved to Wilmcote and have been trying to find a good local chippy, this fish bar has become our favourite. I have cod, my partner has chicken kebab on a pitta and we share chips, portions are good and the kebab is always loaded with meat. Only pain is sometimes they leave the chips wrapped up on the counter by the open door while they prep the kebab meaning after that and our drive home the chips aren’t as hot as I’d like, but to be fair I think I will just ask them to do the chips last next time.

McDonald's
Birmingham Road, AlcesterBeen going here for years. Occasionally we get a random thing missing here and there but the staff will help greatly if you go up to the front. They keep the place clean and tidy and the atmosphere is decent. Workers are friendly and drive through is quite efficient even when busy. Recommend asking for sauces at the last window rather than during the order.
