MamGu Welshcakes
20 Main St, Solva, HaverfordwestNeeded refreshments whilst exploring Solva, so gave Mamgu Welshcakes Café a go. We sat outside as we had our dog, but they allow dogs inside, if they are well behaved. We had a decaf Americano and a choca mocha. Both were delightful, and we had a lemon Welshcake and a Choca Mocha Welshcake. They warmed them up (sorry for the ignorance, but that's a first for us) and they were delicious, so fluffy and light. Staff were lovely, so thoroughly recommend them if in Solva.

Mrs Will the Fish (Seafood Takeaway)
Parc Benny, Solva, HaverfordwestWould love to put up a picture of the lobster platter I ordered and collected today which was meant to be a beach picnic at lunch time .
But it looked so good when I collected it the temptation to start picking at it whilst driving to Solva was too great .
So suffice to say it was great and fantastic value for money ... And what a lovely friendly lady

Harbour Inn
31 Main St, Solva, HaverfordwestCalled for lunch. Had the Hunters Chicken with chips and salad. Followed by chocolate fudge cake and icecream. Not a huge main but definitely a full plate of dessert... the best part... the price. Two mains, two deserts, two soft drinks, only £24. Incredible. Check out their menu ?

Thirty-Five Mainstreet
35 Main St, Solva, HaverfordwestHaving read previous reviews I cancelled our booking in the Harbour Inn and booked to eat here instead. The restaurant has clearly changed hands recently and we were in fact greeted by the new owner who was enjoying a glass of wine with his chef at a table by the entrance and when we mentioned we had booked a table he told us to sit wherever we liked....it wasn't busy!
This very relaxed approach was fine in the circumstances and in fairness the owner did then give us a ringing endorsement of his chef. Fortunately he wasn't wrong. We had breaded whitebait which was spot on and I had a brilliant fish chowder that was worth every penny and more. My wife went with simple fish and chips which was basic but well cooked.
Obviously this was at the very end of summer and everywhere has quietened down (when we walked back past the Harbour Inn after dinner it was almost empty) and this restaurant is in transition. Consequently it rather lacked atmosphere, but the food was both very tasty and excellent value so we felt it only right to tip generously.Hopefully as word gets round that there is a new owner and a good chef the trade will pick up.
