Penralley House
South St, RhayaderThe Penrally House is how a B&B should be. Steve is a great host. The hotel and rooms are great. The breakfast is AMAZING!
We've been twice and looking to go back again soon.
Seeing the lakes as well as seeing the Red Kites, is the cherry on top!

Wild Swan Whole Foods
4 West St, RhayaderDelightful shop with good range of foods of all sorts, except fresh fruit and veg as far as I remember , but you can get them a couple of doors down. Local breads and pastries, cheeses and other dairy products, generously filled quiches etc., lots made on the premises (so the proprietor is a little rushed and understandably brisk at times, trying to serve customers while beating the bara brith! but very smiley and warm). Lovely ranges of tea and coffees, chutneys and condiments, soups and yoghurts, ..... Don't miss it.
Parking: parking on street if you are lucky - which we were twice out of three visits.

Spice Hut
North St, RhayaderVery comprehensive menu, excellent food. All three courses very good, with friendly and efficient service. We ate in and although the ex-public house vibe is strong it does not detract from the quality of the meal. Definitely recommended

The Castle
East St, RhayaderThe Sunday lunch was incredibly tasty and piping hot, unusual for a carvery where the veg can sometimes be somewhat cold. All the vegetables were fresh and local. The beef was cooked perfectly as was the turkey, not dry but moist.
The dessert menu was a choice of 6 items, each of which looked divine. We had the Eton Mess and apple & blackberry tart with custard, both of which left you wanting more.
Well worth booking in advance for!!!

Evans Plaice
4 North St, RhayaderStopped here recently for lunch when we couldn't find another restaurant we were searching for.
The fish and chips were the best we've had in a long long time and at a very reasonable cost. The atmosphere was friendly and the staff were very accommodating of my dear mother who is an extremely slow eater in her old age and finished her meal well after closing time, for which we apologise.
As another reviewer said, 'We wish Evan's Plaice were our local chippy'.

Lamb and Flag Inn-Bar-Grill
North St, RhayaderI was staying across the road at sister business Ty Morgans for a couple nights and visited the Lamb and Flag both evenings. The three girls working the bar / front of house last night (Tues 17th) are an absolute credit to the business. I hope to visit again soon.
