Maria is lovely, we took our dogs in and she fetched water and a little bit of meat from the Sunday roast for them, this was our first visit. We are new to the area and were made to feel right at home. Thanks to all staff and customers at Pick and Shovel.

Forest Rd, Treforest, PontypriddHad a beautiful Sunday lunch again. Generous portions of fresh vegetables, potatoes, meat and gravy. Huge homemade Yorkshire pudding. The sides are extra but not necessary. They are a nice variation though. The creamed leeks ,black pudding mash divine.
Great apple crumble, freshly homemade. Can't fault the food 10 out of 10. Great pub, really nicely decorated and spotlessly clean. Staff are lovely, helpful and friendly.

I had the Honey Chicken with rice and the Sui Mai also. Amazing flavours, good value and will definitely go back next time I am in the area!!!

The woman on staff was really helpful and welcoming and ensured I had everything I needed for my son.

The food was excellent and really ample and the service was so friendly and helpful. The upstairs room has such a beautiful, quaint atmosphere. Really loved it.
Dietary restrictions: I'm not sure how the day-to-day menu is but the catering for vegans at the wedding reception was excellent. Really plenty of lovely, tasty food and great variety.

Went in for a quick pint and a big range of their otley brewery ales were on tap. Around £4 a pint, not the cheapest for the Welsh valleys but not bad. A good selection but the porter had just gone (d'oh), so had a dark IPA which was decent and as it should be.
Friendly staff and customers. One of the better valleys pubs, worth checking out.

Set up a pumpkin carving table and magnet station which our 6 year olds loved. The land lady also put some halloween tunes so the kids could have a little disco with some Halloween lights they thought it was brilliant. Pub grub and super affordable! Not often we have a takeaway, but when we do, it's Jamil as our go to! We have never ever had a bad experience, sitting in or takeaway. The food is amazing and the staff are always so welcoming and friendly. Our meal is always Chicken Tikka Masala and then Chicken or Lamb Makhani with pilau rice, chips and a Pewsweri naan. Thankyou guys!

Chips cheese and beans was a great addition to the champions breakfast along with 2 pints of milk ?
Both of these are a credit to Wales when I had visitors hope one day we can do it all again.. we are capable of having milkshakes next time.

The food came out within minutes of ordering & we left full & Happy. The only thing id mention is some kids were kindly given a xylophone by a member of the staff & placed in an area slightly away from the family but basically behind us, the noise was repetitive & unbearable! I understand it was to entertain them while the family had some time but it was too much for us & the table next to us from what we could tell. We Would recommend this place to friends & it’s been lovely the few times we have been.

From being in there - it appears to have a music space with community members accessing.
Seems to be open most days but have only been there around 12-3pm ISH.

Compared to the curry at Stilts this is a 5 star meal and the price isn't bad at all. Best part about it is that you can have a pint or a game of pool whilst waiting for your fodd, but the wait isnt long at all either. I know its a bold statement, but its the best curry ive ever had. Plus, the coffee is also great! A proper, good ole fashioned British boozer and love the fact it’s so dog friendly too. Love the interior, have really missed seeing a traditional pub and the beer gardens are absolutely beautiful. Other pubs should follow-suit. We love the farmers, only pub we’d go to now and will travel for it.

Common Approach, Beddau, PontypriddBest fish and chip shop for miles, now doing fabulous kebabs too !!! The chips are always hot and plentiful, the fish beautifully cooked with lovely batter. The staff are always cheerful and happy to engage in conversation, they know what we want as soon as we walk into the shop as it's our regular Saturday night treat, we wouldn't go anywhere else. 74 Taff St, PontypriddHad a beautiful afternoon tea wedding reception here. Catering for 60+ guests and I was one of only two vegans but I was taken such good care of. The food was excellent and really ample and the service was so friendly and helpful. The upstairs room has such a beautiful, quaint atmosphere. Really loved it.
Dietary restrictions: I'm not sure how the day-to-day menu is but the catering for vegans at the wedding reception was excellent. Really plenty of lovely, tasty food and great variety.

Llanover St, PontypriddI love this place, it's so relaxing and friendly. Lots of choices of beer in a warm atmosphere and friendly customers. We love John the landlord, his sense of humour is fantastic.

Broadway retail Park, Treforest, PontypriddI wanted a cuppa and food but was immediately told by serving staff it would be a half hour wait, there weren't many tables free but the young man who greeted me directed me to the small tables by the pool
table and was happy to take my tea order, I didn't order food as I got the sense that they may just be doing roasts and with the immediate warning I felt I'd go elsewhere.. he was great- friendly welcoming and helpful.. there was a nice atmosphere .. it was Sunday lunchtime and busy
