Restaurants in Cowbridge

Victoria Inn
Orchard Cl, Sigingstone, CowbridgeThe Victoria Inn was recommended to my husband, who has Coeliacs, as they have many gluten free options. Possibly one of the best Sunday dinners we’ve had! Apologies, no pictures as we were too busy enjoying it.

69 High St, CowbridgeLovely family run Italian restaurant. Food is fantastic with delicious home made Pizza & pasta dishes. I ordered the Spaghetti Putanesca which is quite a hard dish to get right. It was spot on, really fresh delicious ingredients. Would highly recommend. Family friendly, also do takeaway.

The Sycamore Tree
Coed Marsarnen, Colwinston, CowbridgeWe were delighted with our early Christmas menu dinner this evening, what a warm welcome we had from the lovely staff there, nothing was too much trouble for them. The food was delicious and generous portions, at a great price. Highly recommend this cosy pub, we will definitely be back as we spied the rack of ribs and traditional pies going to other tables, that looked very tasty!

The Fox at Penllyn
Penllyn, CowbridgeHad a superb Sunday lunch here. All tastes catered for. We had a booking at 4pm by which time some of the dishes were unavailable, but some substitutions were made and it didn't feel like missing out. It was busy but the vibe was was and friendly. Nice log burner on the pub side was on. Food was very tasty and generous potions were given. We'll will be back to try the fablas sundae. There was good wine list and a selection on real beers and ales. The 3* food hygiene rating was a surprise. But it did not detract from a wonderful evening. Highly recommended

Pear Kitchen

Cocoa&Co
3 Veritys, CowbridgeAmazing shop, a huge selection in a small space, definitely something for everyone. Perfect for gifts or everyday treats (gorgeous truffles). The codes for allergens are really useful. My niece has a dairy allergy and they always have a good choice of dairy-free options

Harry's Cowbridge
2 Westgate, CowbridgeThis was the first time we had been to Harry's and it coincided with their first day doing Sunday lunch. Absolutely faultless food and service. The vegetarian option was delicious and the actual veg was amazing. I would have happily eaten just a plate of the red cabbage on its own. Aside from the food, the wine list was incredibly extensive (can totally recommend the Doppio Passo Primitivo) and there were great beer options on tap. I can't wait to go back!!

96 Degrees Coffee
Unit 7C Old Masons Yard, CowbridgeHave visited twice, once solo and once with group of colleagues. Plenty of space and some tables large enough for our group of 7. Lovely fresh orange juice and am told the coffee was excellent, didn't try any of the good offeringsParking: Main town car park is next to the shop. Free for 2 hours with option to pay for longer stays, but beware you do need to get a ticket from the (rather slow) P&D machine even if it's just for the free parking

The Plough & Harrow
Monknash, CowbridgeThese days, there are few pubs that are worth making an effort to visit. The Plough and Harrow is an exception. It is in a fairly rural location, but there are some nice walks down to the coast, if that is your thing. The Plough and Harrow is at its best on a warm summer's day. There is plenty of outdoor seating where you can soak up the countryside.
The menu is fairly standard, but good quality, and over the many times we have eaten here we've never been disappointed. The beer varies, but is kept to a very high standard, and there's almost always something new and interesting to try. Other than the addition of electric light (although candles are used a lot as well), the interior does not look like it has changed much for several centuries.

The Barley Mow
Graig Penllyn, CowbridgeMy family and I have just finished a home-delivered Sunday dinner from the Barley Mow and it was excellent. It arrived hot, and nicely packaged, which showed care and attention had gone into preparing it. Then each of us sat and worked our way through variously, a lamb dinner, beef dinner and chicken dinner. If I hadn't been enjoying it so much, I might have taken a photo to show how good it was. And I might have considered splitting it into two meals because there was certainly enough for that. Real value for money. My lamb was tremendous and my wife said the beef was great, as well. I'm not sure if there's someone new running the kitchen but based on this experience, I would recommend this to anyone.

Rogers Chinese Takeaway
2 Town Hall Square, CowbridgeI don't know what to say, I actually quite like Rogers. The chicken balls + chips + noodle combo is pretty decent, the chef lady looks like an extremely hard worker. Maybe sliightly oversalted, otherwise nothing to say but positive things.

Caffè Nero
4 Birds Ln, CowbridgeVery often good coffee and great staff, but really wish that they would make up the vegan cream in the fridge.
Perfect place for dogs too.
The staff work very hard and could perhaps benefit from having one member specifically there to wash up and clear tables.
Caffe Nero are a bit behind the times charging for alternative milk options. Most coffee houses no longer do so,and being penalised for allergies etc seems unfair.
