Plas Yn Dre Ty Coffi
27 High St, BalaLovely coffee shop on Bala's main road. I rarely eat out, but I've been here twice now: once with a friend, and once on my own. The food and drink both times were lovely and the service quick, as well as with good portion sizes. There's plenty of room to sit and work if you so wish, but be warned, I didn't see any power outlets anywhere, and there's no wifi. Definitely reccommend if you're looking for a café in town to eat, though.

The Goat / Yr Afr
Stryd Fawr, 41 High St, BalaNice pub in the Centre of Bala. We went in to watch the England game and it was busy but got a table and ordered drinks and crisps. It was very reasonably priced. We asked about ordering dinner and they advised that they weren't serving food but we could get food from outside and bring it in for the game. Staff were very friendly when we spoke to them and it is very dog friendly!

Caffi Woody's Cafe
2 Pensarn Rd, BalaThe previous time we visited the cafe was in the busy season, more recently we visited again and can say in all honesty on each occasion the staff were pleasant and welcoming the food was absolutely lovely and the place was very clean and tidy.
We did divert from our route to have lunch here and it was a good decision!
The toilets were spotless, I noticed that tthe proprietors had even provided for the very small children to use the toilet under supervision.
The whole place was clean, tidy and a credit to the proprietors.
Outside are more tables which provide a superb view of Bala lake and the surrounding hills.

Star Kebab House
57 High St, BalaVery very busy takeaway, but I understand why!! The food was lovely!! Definitely value for money, we ordered cheese garlic bread and cheese burgers.. large portions of food!! Awesome food!! We all loved it!!
And its ALL halal!! We struggled finding ALL halal takeaways when travelling around Wales.
Will definitely advise people when in Bala get a takeaway from here, short drive or walk to the Bala lake and eat there at the watersport carpark.. (if you drive to the next turning, its a caravan motorhome carpark, free to park and closer to the lake.) Benches are there to enjoy the takeaway!!

Badell Aur Restaurant
35 High St, BalaReally good food, stopped here for breakfast whilst our car was in the garage. Staff were lovely and friendly and happily swapped a couple of items in the breakfast with no hassle and even gave us an extra slice of black pudding! Tea could have been a little bit stronger but that’s only a minor detail.

Cwrt
62 High St, BalaThe restaurant is lovely and the staff were very attentive and got things done as quick as possible even though they did seem a bit short staffed especially as we were a party of 13 and there were other full tables so well done to the lad and lady who were serving us. I did unfortunately have very slight problems with the food, the garlic dough balls (which was my starter) were cooked to perfection, soft and warm on the inside and a bit crisp on the outside, the dough they use here is yummy and VERY filling. Sadly the doughy balls had a lack in the garlic department, a little side pot of garlic butter included would have been perfect in this dish. I had their Yankee (pepperoni) pizza and the toppings and sauce were fantastic but the base had more to be desired, waayyy too thick and not enough crunch underneath, it was like eating a very wide bread roll which im usually not opposed to but after a round of dough balls i didnt expcet such a thicc pizza from an italian restaurant. The kitchen obviously doesn't have a pizza oven due to the size of the place so has to do deep pan pizza, I would recommend instead of doing such a thick base, do a Chicago style pizza, make the base a bit thinner, a generous layer of that really good cheese on top of that and some of that amazing tomato sauce with toppings to top that all off and make sure to get a crisp base and you'll have an absolutely fantastic pizza going. Would love to see these amazing ingredients you're using put to better use :)
