The Bute Arms
Hookergate Ln, High Spen, Rowlands GillThis is a great, family friendly pub with lots to offer from a fabulous menu, to pub quizzes. The all day breakfast was lovely and a very good portion size. As we went for lunch, we also ordered the 3 for £15 plates which were very tasty. Great community, would recommend!!

Old Co-op buildings, Hookergate Ln, High Spen, Rowlands GillLovely friendly staff. Nice coffee and tasty cake. They have a card machine but prefer you to pay in cash. Nice place yo visit after a walk in Chopwell Woods.
Parking: There's only a bus stop outside so you might have to park and walk back.

The Happiest Sandwich Shop In The World
The Grove, Rowlands GillLovely sandwich shop with a friendly owner and staff, all locally based. Nice food, I used to work there and can attest to the quality of the food. Definitely worth a visit if you're in the Rowlandsgill area.

Maguires Chip Shop
Burnopfield Rd, Rowlands GillOn our holidays here, we popped across to this chip shop after visiting family and the fish was cooked to order, I can probably say one of the nicest fish and chips I’ve had in a long time.
