51 High St, EsherI have been to Hummings a few times now, and I simply love it! Initially visited with a friend while looking for a pre-girls night out spot - we didn't leave. We had such a fun night - the music, the atmosphere, the cocktails!! It was a vibe! The cocktails by the way, were simply divine (definitely recommend having a Freaky Tiki, so delicious)!
Came back with my family for some brunch, and they loved it, too (the Hummings Humdinger is a MUST). Such a lush selection of food to choose from for brunch or lunch, and smoothies too, at great prices. The kids pretty much demolished the Pancake Tower (such a generous portion!), and were spoilt for choice with the milkshake options. The staff were so accommodating and gave my two little ones lots of attention. It's so refreshing to find a spot that ticks so many boxes! If you're in Esher, pop down to this little gem on the high street - you definitely won't be disappointed.

Zeitoun Claygate
The Grn, leonard's Road, Claygate, EsherFood was delicious and plentiful, we ordered two portions between 3 of one of the set menus and it was still too much. The restaurant is beautifully decorated and very comfortable with gorgeous views of the green outside the window. Loved it.

Esher Best Kebab & Burger House
66 High St, EsherMy dad decided to go to a kebab house as that is one of his favourite genres of food. We choose this local kebab shop and on the outside it doesn’t look like it is too much, but the food tastes and portions are very good. We didn’t have to wait for that long before our food arrived and the chicken shawarma is a chef’s kiss. The price for the food is well worth it and has been approved by me.
Parking: The Waitrose parking is free so I recommend going there, but you must go before an hour and a half because then you have to pay quite a bit.

Claygate Averna
The Green St Leonard's Rd, EsherWe had a family Sunday lunch at Averna yesterday for my Mother's birthday. The restaurant was full and I was a little worried that our party of 15 would not have all our main meals served together. I could not have been more wrong. The service was excellent, attention to our needs immediate, everything flowed beautifully and all mains came at the same time, were hot and delicious, and the Averna staff and their Manager could not have done more for us. Averna knows it's business and executes it to perfection. We had the best time and cannot wait to return. Huge thanks Averna, what a treat!!!

10 The Parade, Claygate, EsherI had been working away in Epsom all weekend, so popped in on spec, having not booked a table, and I was fitted in no problem. Pleasant staff catered for me very well. The food was excellent, I had a vegetable Pathia, and poppadums, with mushroom pilau rice.
Vegetarian options: As is usual with Indian / Bangladeshi restaurants, most of the regular dishes have a vegetarian option
Parking: You have to park in the street and it is a very busy area, or you can park about 200 yards away on a paid car park

57-59 High St, EsherWarmly welcomed with a big smile and asked where we'd like to be seated in the restaurant. Beautifully decorated with orchids and atmosphere was great. We shared a starter of Fisherman's Feast, followed by lunchtime tapas plates, Royal, Showstopper and Hawkers. Food was very tasty and hot, slightly spicy, all delicious! Metta was our smiling server, very polite and friendly, checking in on us at intervals without being intrusive. It was our first visit and would highly recommend trying out the food. Thank you Metta!

Doorway to other bar has 'mind your head' sign on one side, but not the other. Be warned! My mate completely forgot about it and banged his head returning!

The Grn, Claygate, EsherI just had to write and share how lovely my meal was last night. Although very busy at 6pm on a Friday night with a full booking of the restaurant for a function, we were give a warm welcome by bar staff and customers. The menu wasn’t huge but offered a good range of choices . As a vegetarian I had the choice of two very different mains and I chose the (V) Oven Baked Aubergine Salad – couscous, ratatouille, halloumi, tomato, Rocket oil, pickle slaw salad - £15.00 and it was gorgeous, cooked to perfection and the perfect meal for a cold winters night. So often the vegetarian option is an after thought on pub menus, put there to tick a box but this was truly delicious and they knew how to cook halloumi ! My friend also thoroughly enjoyed her fish and chips. I just wish I’d had room for a pudding as I later heard from some others that they’d loved theirs.

29 The Parade, Claygate, EsherGenuinely nice family running the shop. Very friendly atmosphere, mum and daughter are very chatty. I went on Friday evening just for some chips, they were excellent and fresh. However they only take cash payment, which is fine by me as I'm old school. Do check if they are open in the month of August as they close the shop for holiday.

Sam and her team were very easy to deal with and quick to respond to us.The clubhouse was beautifully decorated with Christmas decorations and the lighting was nicely dimmed. There was a great selection of drinks available and the canapés were fresh, hot and very delicious.We have rebooked for our summer party already.Highly recommend.Dietary restrictions: Sam was very helpful in letting us know all ingredients to account for the few in our party who had gluten and nut allergies.Wheelchair accessibility: This venue is all one level and has a disabled loo and a wide hallway.

The Bear
71 High St, EsherI have always enjoyed going to The Bear in Esher. I have never stayed but always enjoy a pint and a meal. Went again on Sunday and Ollie and his team did not disappoint. Again! A fantastic time in a great pub. Can’t recommend enough.
