The Plough Sutton
Main Rd, Sutton, WoodbridgeWe happened upon this gem of a pub during our overnight stay in Shottisham. We ate here for dinner and although the pub wasn't very busy, the few people inside were very friendly and the landlady was welcoming.
We had the fish and chips and were not disappointed. The meal filled the large plate to overflowing. The fish was delish. White flakey fish and a deliciously light batter.
The local Ale, Sutton Ale was lovely

The Sorrel Horse
Hollesley Rd, Shottisham, WoodbridgeMy Dad and I recently stayed in the holiday flat above the pub for a short walking holiday. We arrived to a very warm welcome from the lovely staff and despite having not planned ahead and booked a table they were able to squeeze us in for dinner which was hearty traditional pub fayre - just what we needed after a 12 mile hike! It is a friendly, community pub and the whole place is full of character and cosy. We wished we had time for the Sunday breakfast as the pub was buzzing with happy diners as we were heading out on our next hike the second day. The flat upstairs is highly recommended too if you fancy staying over. It was very comfy and clean with everything we needed. Tip: check the pub opening times for meals and book a table ahead.
