Restaurants in Bures

The Barn At Assington
The St, Assington, SudburyGood food but a bit of a wait, especially as they weren’t that busy. Nice, bright premises. Lots of cyclists turning up after riding from Colchester: they eat outside while keeping their bikes in sight.

Eight Bells Bures
Colchester Rd, BuresExcellent Sunday lunch for £12. The roast beef was really tender and the vegtables were freshly cooked. Wide range of ales on offer also. Sunday roast is only servered between 12 & 2 so make sure you get there early to grab a table, you won't be disappointed. No need to book - just turn up find a table and order at the bar.

Thatchers Arms Mount Bures
Hall Rd, BuresPopped in for lunch yesterday without booking and couldn't have felt more welcome. We were pre-warned that the food may take a little longer than expected as there was a large party about to order too. We really appreciated this information as we had two young children with us. Food was excellent and everyone was incredibly friendly, especially to our two little boys. We will definitely visit again and would recommend to anyone thinking of going for a family meal.

Shoulder Of Mutton
The St, Assington, SudburyStopped for Sunday lunch with my friends and 2 waggy woofs. Nice menu, food was generous and really tasty. The best Chocolate Brownie pud I have ever had! I have had a few... We were welcomed warmly as we're our dogs. Place has character in a lovely village location. Service was very good too. Will look forward to bringing my family to visit.Vegetarian options: A vegetable Wellington was the roast option with all the roast potatoes and veg. There is also a veggie platter.
