Restaurants in Aldeburgh

The Lighthouse
77 High St, AldeburghVery nice people, pleasant atmosphere, lovely champagne!
Food - a bit disappointing, to be honest.
Fish soup lacked depth of flavour and the rouille / crouton had been placed on top for too long, so it had gone soggy.
Sea bass ok, although one was not quite cooked at the edge.
Sticky toffee pudding the star of the show!

Thai Street Cafe Aldeburgh
Davids Place, 106-108 High St, AldeburghWent to the Thai Street cafe twice in my weeks stay in Aldeburgh. Wonderful place. My sister who lived in KL was very impressed with the food. I had the Thai Street seafood curry, excellent - not listed on the recommend menu here
Dog friendly too. Definitely recommend.
Only downside, being an ale drinker, they only had lager types.

Regatta Restaurant
171 High St, AldeburghNice restaurant run by nice people, emphasis on fish but also lots of other good stuff. **Really** enjoyed my whole roast bass with samphire and crayfish, so much that I only slightly miss not having had the doubtless almost equally yummy Cromer crab. Can also recommend the fish soup as long as you like it in the true French fishy style, and love that they sell 500ml wine carafes. It's up to you whether you share them ?

Libardi's Ice Cream Kiosk
7 Crabbe St, AldeburghStopped by for an ice cream with my celiac daughter. The lady serving guessed she was celiac, offered to open fresh tubs so there was no contamination risk and they have gluten free cones. Fantastic service, oh and the ice creams are gorgeous too.

Cross Keys Aldeburgh
Crabbe St, AldeburghWe visited several times while staying on holiday locally. Very nice traditional pub in the town centre. We welcomed the warm fire as it was poring with rain outside on our first visit. Great choice of beers with a few I've never seen before. My only slight complaint was that a couple of the girls serving weren't very welcoming and didn't come across as very happy. However, we will definitely visit again when back in the area.

The Railway Inn
Leiston Rd, AldeburghStopped off for a couple of drinks while staying nearby for a few days. The man serving was very friendly and drinks reasonably priced with good choices. Nice to visit a traditional type pub rather than the chain ones.

White Hart Inn Aldeburgh
222 High St, AldeburghCracking one room pub in Aldeburgh. Friendly efficient bar staff & I love the fact that Adnam’s are the U.K. importers of Bitburger. Bitburger served in unbranded pint glasses & it’s obvious the glasses are perfectly clean as the Bitburger is as lively as it should be. I enjoyed a few pints & my wife had no complaints about the Sauvignon Blanc.

The Chocolate Teapot
110 High St, AldeburghVisiting scenic Aldeburgh, thought we'd try the local deli. Quite a few items unavailable. However, homemade salmon quiche with salad & potato salad - no coleslaw - did NOT disappoint. Teeny tiny little venue but would recommend.

Two Magpies Bakery Aldeburgh
183A High St, AldeburghHad breakfast here whilst holidaying on the suffolk coast, dog friendly, wasn't too busy when we arrived on the Saturday. Mysrlf and my husband had the avacado on toast with poached eggs, 2 coffees. The sourdough toast was delicious, eggs perfectly cooked, relish and smashed avacafo perfect. Our friends joined us and got served straight away even though we'd just received our food, nothing was too much trouble. Started to get really busy abd people were being turned away. Beautiful food. No room for the gorgeous pastries/cakes etc but will return when we're over that way again.

Delphine's
76-78 High St, AldeburghI've been to Delphine's a few times now and the breakfast is great but I think the star of my last visit was the milkshake! I only managed to have 2 sips as my toddler refused to share... Not that I blame him .
