The Bothy Braemar
Invercauld Rd, BraemarGreat cafe, nice atmosphere and good GF choices too. Lots of nice pictures inside too of the local area along with maps and books etc.
Outdoor seating area is perfect for bikes too.

Clockhouse Restaurant
The Square, Tomintoul, BallindallochMy husband is still raving about his Roe deer from Clockhouse. If we pass by here again, we would be glad to stop by for another round of their classic Scottish hospitality & delectable meals!
Just a quick note about the antler lamp—although it makes for a charming display, the naked bulb is a bit strong on the eyes—maybe consider a softer bulb or a bit of diffusion? Sorry… we’re filmmakers & lighting is a bit of our “thing.”

The Drawing Room
Mar Rd, Braemar, BallaterLucky us; we had a few hours here so we relaxed in the historic, cosy, yet regal Fife Arms. Our mid-day dinner was in the snug of the Flying Stag.Amazing surroundings and the service and food are tops. All staff are professional and helpful throughout the property. Make time to stay a night or two as we will do soon. Our one beautiful afternoon just was not enough.

The Flying Stag
Mar Rd, Braemar, BallaterWe’re visited the Flying Stag during the Braemar Gathering time. They were busy so a reservation was recommended. We were seated on your upper level in nice bog throne like chairs, very comfortable. The staff and manager were friendly and helpful. I am on the Keto diet and did not want to be a pain and wondered if they could accommodate me. They sure did. I had the steak sandwich without the bread… salad instead of fries and a lovely portion of spinach. It was may partners birthday so a piece of cake and candle magically appeared. Loved the wine and beer and everything. Thank you for a great experience.
