Captain's Galley Restaurant

Arrived for lunch with ex colleagues expecting the regular menu, however the restaurant was offering a special Greek week menu ! Wow! What a fabulous lunch… we had several of the small sharing plates - which were absolutely delicious!! Great advice from the friendly waitress about how many portions would best suit us. We were too full for dessert but the chef accommodated our wish to finish with something sweet by offering us mini chocolate brownies with our coffee! So enjoyed by us all …. can’t wait to go back soon ! Thank you all at The Captain’s Galley!

Capilla Tapas Restaurant

Hidden gem. Reasonably priced, excellent small plates—so much food. Never had a tastier olive and the wine was amazing. We had a bit of everything and can not recommend it more.

Caffe Cardosi

We’ve been a couple of times and food is consistently good. Always a friendly welcome when you arrive. Great breakfasts, oat milk lattes are fantastic and the homemade cakes are SO good. Highly recommended! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Pride of Bengal Indian Restaurant and Takeaway

This is the third time in the last couple of weeks I've eaten from here,
Their food is absolutely delicious, Probably the best Chicken Tikka Madras I've ever eaten, The staff are amazing too!!
Can't recommend the Pride of Bengal enough,

Jamieson Bakery

A simple place where locals come to enjoy pastries, breakfast snacks, etc.
The products are very good, the service efficient with friendly people.
Of course we eat on tables with an oilcloth, but here no superfluities just quality and conviviality

Thurso Community Café

What a wonderful place this has become. I'm sorry to say we only had an opportunity to visit once before moving out of the area.This is more than just a cafe that serves wholesome food and cakes, this is a community hub which cares about the most vulnerable in our society, and it deserves all the support it can be given :) Wonderful people and a wonderful concept that I hope inspires other places to follow suit across the UK :)Parking: Outside the cafe there is plenty of easy car parking for anyone wishing to visit.

Good pub to visit when in Thurso. Pleasant watering hall says my husband! Good, fair prices and central. Service is attentive. We didn't eat there so I can not tell something about that.

Mr C's Bar

It's incredible venue for welcoming local artists such as Musicians Drag acts and more Simon is so Kind and friendly and all the staff are incredible they do really Good Cocktails too Highly recommend and Fantastic food Too and can't wait to do more drag shows here

lovely place and staff are very helpful and up for a natter . I am GF and today I had a toasted sandwich chicken and cheese it was lovely. I highly recommend this place

Taco East

Taco East have just done a hot buffet for over 70 people for John O Groats Playpark Fundraising. Everything was beautifully prepared and present and tasted delicious! Highly recommended for a Mexican delight ❤️

Tesco Cafe

Nice wee place and well looked after. The fayre is less so great for me but that's what Tesco's offer and the staff do their best.It's a good cuppa though.

Peerie Cafe

Was in today lovely little place. Crazy busy food was excellent. Will definitely be back. well done to the girls, they were so accommodating and couldn’t have been more polite about the fact there would be a little wait. 5 * to them.

'The Upper Deck' restaurant

Very nice restaurant. The fish and chips were proper good.

Very good restaurant, we had consulted the reviews before and were rather doubtful but in the end it was excellent

Vegetarian options: Meat dishes can be substituted for a vegetable and mushroom base

Popeyes

Amazing meal with a breathtaking view? Staff were so friendly and attentive! Wide range of local, fresh fish but many another options aswell , etc their locally famous steaks. Definitely would recommend and can’t wait for our next visit.

The Grove Lounge

Haddock and cheesy mash was really tasty. Wife had the macaroni which we both agreed was the best we’ve had from a restaurant. Staff were friendly and they allow dogs which is a bonus!

T's Café Restaurant

We arrived in town on Saturday afternoon and almost all the restaurants were closed. That's why we ended up here, even though we didn't find it that appealing. The dining room is relatively uncomfortable and cold; no one goes there because of the atmosphere.
But the food was really great (pumpkin curry, fish and chips)! Therefore it is worth taking a look here.

The Blue Door Coffee Shop & Diner

The best burger in Scotland!!! I ended up here by chance on my 3 week road trip around Scotland. I had a lot of burgers along the way but this was the best. Big compliments to the kitchen. The service was also great. Milkshakes were also great!!!

Johnstons Of Thurso

The staff here are very accommodating …… the hotel is a little dated but under new ownership so work in progress . The room was clean & comfortable and the food was excellent and great value , breakfast was included in the price , free car parking …. so all in all a great place to stay that won’t break the bank .

Strangely, I ordered a pizza to take away and extra ingredients were not possible
But I thought the pizza was very good
Staff was quite nice
Ambiance, well I didn't eat there but I'm glad about it

Y Not Bar & Grill

Service and atmosphere was decent, I’m only giving the food 3 star as what I ordered “Rib” was quite hard to slice of the bone, could have been cooked for much longer based on other ribs I’ve had in the past. The fish salmon could also do with more seasoning as it was very bland.
