The Waterwheel
East Lodge, Philiphaugh Old Mill, SelkirkAbsolutely loved it here. My 2 small children were so entertained by the little room with the eagle artefacts, especially the buttons that play the noises each bird makes. The cafe has a beautiful log cabin feel to it, beautifully set out and instantly very welcoming. The staff were all really lovely, full of smiles and very warm. The homemade cakes were delicious, we had a lemon & coconut slice and a peppermint slice, both equally nice. They also catered for allergies, I had an oat milk latte, which was really lovely. Indoor and outdoor seating.
Salmon viewing right next door too.
I would definitely come back again, when we are next this way visiting family.

Philipburn Restaurant
Linglie Rd, SelkirkWe called in twice for an evening meal at the Philipburn Hotel during our stay in the Selkirk area and found that the food & the service was just amazing. The place is spotlessly clean and the attention to detail is seen throughout the Hotel. The quality of all the food was excellent and the presentation of all the courses was so professional. Needless to say we certainly enjoyed both meals at the Philipburn and would certainly call in again if we return to that area. Initially we had mainly called in as it was Dog Friendly and of course this does restrict where you can eat but the Philipburn certainly made us feel very welcome and the lounge / bar area was very comfortable. All the food was excellent but the Sea Bass and the Fresh Fruit Sundae were just outstandingly good. Some great beers available as well.

1 Buccleuch Rd, SelkirkA proper "greasy spoon". Cheap, tasty, fast. Great place although only open 11am to 2pm. Phone ahead to order. Ideal for a quick basic, tasty snack on the go.

27 High St, SelkirkBeen using Ozkans for a couple of months now. Food is absolutely delicious, delivery time is normally around 20 mins. My new go to takeaway. Keep up the good work guys. ??

Woll Restaurant
Ashkirk, SelkirkWe really enjoy going to The Woll Restaurant. I don't think we'd call ourselves regular customers, but we do keep going back from time to time for a meal. Food is always really good, service is fantastic - all of the staff are lovely. 10/10. We've taken our daughter (now 7yo) for the past 3 years to the Christmas Grotto at The Woll which is absolutely amazing for the bairns, you're taken upstairs for the wee ones to meet Santa in his grotto, they get to have a wee chat with Santa and one of his elves - it's just an amazing experience for them. 20/10 for the Christmas Grotto, it's just THAT good!
Parking: I have never seen the car park anything more than a third full, PLENTY of parking spaces
Kid-friendliness: The staff are always brilliant with the kids.
Wheelchair accessibility: No problem getting a wheelchair in, and there are two disabled parking bays on tarmac near the entrance to the restaurant (the rest of the car park is gravel)

Smiddy Bar & Restaurant
Ashkirk, SelkirkLovely little place with exemplary service. It's such a shame we had it to ourselves. Needs better marketing, maybe such as a sign on the A7? Anyway, it's a very nice Sunday roast.

Tony's Tower Fish Bar
4 Tower St, SelkirkWas in the town for a few hours & wanted something quick & easy to eat while driving home to Ayrshire, so pleased i went here, food was top quality, best chips I have had in a long time and same with the Haggis, wont hesitate to buy from here again!!
