Marmaris Kebab House Oban
91 George St, ObanWe have tried every kebab in oban . This is 100% the best one In town. Plenty of salad with the donner kebab. The other takeaways just don't give you the salad that it should come with. Try it yourselves you won't be disappointed. ?

The Tartan Tavern
3 Albany Terrace, ObanA Lovely looking little boozer a very short walk out of the centre serving a nice Tennants and Guinness. Showing the sports on different screens. Nice old fixtures and fittings as well as stained glass windows and a wooden bar. Recommended stop on a crawl of the town. ? ? ??????? ⚽️ ?
Parking: It’s on a narrow street so no specific parking for the pub. More of a pub crawl town so best exploring on foot.

Takeaway Restaurants

Oban Seafood Hut.. (Green Shack)
Calmac Pier, ObanYes. It's a shack. No toilets, but you can find them in the ferry terminal next door. The scots do not like sharing their toilets. The oysters were huge. A dozen is too much for one person. The mussels looked good, but we had no room after oysters. They do not believe in cocktail sauce, so bring your own and your own wine too. You probably will be standing at a grubby table. But still a worthwhile experience. They close around 530p.

Roxy's Coffee & Tea House
7 Argyll Square, ObanGreat choice and nice interior design. Food and drinks are good. The place might get overcrowded - we had to wait at the entrance for a free table around noon weekdays. The staff is wearing headsets, clears the tables very quickly and appears a little stressed. This makes the guest experience a little hectic, and we didn't dare to fully relax or take time for ordering, eating and staying longer.

Oban Chocolate Company
34 Corran Esplanade, ObanNice, but nothing out of the ordinary. Eat/drink in items are still served in takeaway packaging (difficult to butter a scone using a cardboard knife!) which feels a bit sub par considering it could be a nice experience. Good choices of hot chocolate but no real information on tasting notes of each type (staff also couldn’t comment / advise, but did let me taste the raw callets so I could choose). Chocolates made on site. Great selection of items from bars to truffles etc. geared to tourists I expect. Chocolate is nice but nothing special and sits below the “artisan” bracket for me

Nories
86 George St, ObanOf all the fish and chips I have tried on my trip to Scotland, I can say that this has been one of my favorites. It's a place where you can eat it there or pick it up to go. The portions are generous and the fish batter is exquisite, as is the fish itself. We loved it.

The Little Bay Cafe
9 Stafford St, ObanCannot fault the food or cakes as they were amazing just the service on the takeaway of the cakes I bought the attitude of one member of staff was quite rude the young girl had asked another member of staff to cut a slice of cake had to wait 10 minutes + as she was so busy folding napkins it wasn't as if it was busy as i was the only one in shop felt quite awkward as I stood there and other customers came in and were served in fact the young girl had to ask again if she would cut a slice of cake for me the lady seemed to look quite annoyed and it was a bit of an inconvenience for her I know we all have off days but a smile doesn't cost anything

The Oban Inn
The Oban Inn, 1 Stafford St, ObanFantastic old pub in Oban (possibly my favourite in the town.) Fantastic ambience due to the decor, atmosphere and lighting. Aulay's Bar
8 Aird's Cres, ObanLovely old pub with a main bar and a lounge (both with a slightly different vibe,as it should be.) Shows the sports throughout the week with an information board showing what’s upcoming. Friendly service and chatty patrons. Was very happy I stopped in for one on a crawl of the town. Wasn’t on the Tennants on this trip to Scotland which is unusual as I love the stuff and you don’t get it over the border on tap. I was on the Guinness and it was a nice pint in here. Recommended ? ??????? ⚽️

North Pier, ObanI think that "wow" sums this place up! The Oban Fish & Chip Shop
116 George St, ObanWithout question, Oban's No 1 fish and chip shop & restaurant.
There are 3 chip shops to choose from and this one's the furthest walk from the harbour , but it's definitely the one to sample.
There is a small restaurant at the back and whether it's eat in or take away, you'll enjoy a real local feast.
The chips and other fried foods (Cod, Haddock, Chicken and Haggis etc) are always freshly fried and not held in a warm counter for long periods of time.
Service is ok too, although you will probably have to wait for 15 minutes at busy times (because it's all fried to order).
Fridays are the crazy shift because traditionally, people in the UK would eat fish (a passover from more religious times). The queues may go out the door and along the street, but don't be tempted from walking to the next shop as you'll be missing out on the Best 'chippy' or as we say ' fish-supper'
