15 Manse Rd, Newmains, WishawI love this wee Café, its a great place to meet mum friends, have cake and coffee, or Brunch. The soups are all made fresh and are to die for, just so good! The special change week to week but they have a staple menu and its all perfect comfort food. My favourite is the BLT or Baked Potato with coleslaw its soooo tasty. They have a baby and toddler café every Wed and Fri and its great for the kids to run about and to me to catch up with other mums. I ordered a whole cheesecake and an afternoon tea box from them before and they were superb.

75 Main St, Newmains, WishawThis is one of the cheapest petrol stations in Newmains the other one is Asda's (the two of them seem to have a competition at times as to who is the cheapest). It sits at the Lanark side of the roundabout in Newmains and is open 24hr it is on average the cheapest or second cheapest for petrol or diesel, and it has a good forecourt shop for those household goods that you have forgotten to get before the shops shut (a lifesaver at times) and unlike the other petrol stations in Newmains free air and water, it also has a cash machine and well kept toilet facilities, and the staff on the whole are friendly and helpful and they are also quick to start the pump when you pull in unlike a lot of garages.

Food arrived within 40 minutes piping hot and it really was delicious.I'd stopped ordering Indian takeaway as I'd tried several different places in the local area and in most cases the curries were swimming in grease and the meat was poor quality. This was quite the opposite. The chicken dhansak was amazing. Perfectly spiced and the rice was light and fluffy. I'll definitely order from here again.

136 Manse Rd, Newmains, WishawAfter being told to try this by a local business man from the newmains area , I Was really surprised with some of the bad reviews on this as I had a lamb tikka from this place tonight and found it a delightful little dish . The chips were perfectly cooked. Not to crispy but not at all soggy (served in a bag rather than a polystyrene box”nice touch”) The curry sauce was quite thick which is the way it should be not runny like other establishments. Overall very happy with my service and will be returning again. Thank you

122 Manse Rd, Newmains, WishawOrdered a couple of festive munchie boxes over the holidays. Absolutely magic! One of our guests travelled as far as Stepps to join us, and couldn’t believe the standard of Chinese grub in Newmains. To quote big Arnie… I’ll be back.
