Wobbly Dog of Lewis
11, Lionel, Isle of LewisGrand little cafe with roadside parking and a bit of space roun't back. Really cracking cakes AND cheese scones !! Well worth a visit if you are out Ness way. Revisit in October 2024 and Wobbly Dog now under new ownership. Have to say the quality is still there. Had excellent Spiced soup for lunch, fresh brewed Argyle coffee and a whopping slice of Biscoff Cheesecake. Thoroughly over indulged oneself. Grand !

The Fank
3 Cromwell St, StornowayWe had an excellent experience as a young family of 5. The staff were accommodating and welcoming following our impromptu walk in visit on a Wednesday evening. The food was incredible, after craving seafood during our stay on the island. Kids menu was perfect. The waitress looking after us did a great job and would highly recommend to anyone passing through with children!

The Boatshed Restaurant
Cromwell St, StornowayWe had a pleasant dinner and enjoyed our view with castle. My friend loved their vegan burger and I enjoyed the scallops and langoustines I had.

Bridge Centre Cafe
Lamont Lane, Bayhead, StornowayA hidden gem!
The best pad Thai I have ever had.
The food here is full of flavour and truly authentic. Whilst the cafe doesn’t look like much on the inside the food is out of this world and very very good value.
Can’t wait to come back already!

HS-1 Cafe Bar
Isle of Lewis, Cromwell St, StornowayNot disappointed with the food, a wee bit slow from ordering to getting your food but well worth the wait.
We left stuffed. Unfortunately no room for pudding.
Very friendly and efficient staff.

Kopi Java
87 Cromwell St, StornowayLooking for a coffee and cake to sit in experience, I found this place on Google and it was given mostly 5stars by fellow reviewers. Glad I made a visit, staff in my experience were all really lovely. I ordered a flat white and a coffee/walnut cake to have with it. Both were great. Toilet was through what looked like the storage cupboard, but I was grateful there was one (my experience on visiting the outer Hebrides, always know where the loos are!!)

Crown Hotel
Crown Hotel, StornowayA great, absolutely dog-friendly hotel above a sports bar. It is permitted to take the dogs into a lounge so that they can have a drink in the evening. You can even take it with you for breakfast and it is conveniently placed separately from the food.
The room has everything you need, even earplugs if the party people are too loud on the weekend. We were thrilled.

Camerons Chip Shop
33 Point St, StornowayWe stopped in here for a quick bit to eat after touring the town and Lews Castle. The haddock and chips were absolutely delicious, the portions were more than generous and the price was very economical. We also had a side of onion rings which also did not disappoint. Should we ever find our way back to Stornoway, which I hope we will, we will most definitely eat here again.

Island Star
28 South Beach, StornowaySolo diner looking for something to eat on a Saturday evening. Friendly welcome and reasonable menu… although still trying to work out the Istanbul/Indian connection? Popadoms and pickles, chicken bhuna, rice and a very decent… actually, very good, peshwari naan. All well cooked and presented, good flavour and reasonable price in a town where others seem to be, almost, profiteering. Don’t get me wrong… these guys are never going to earn too many awards for their food but it’s good honest cooking at a reasonable price and with a degree of sincerity/desire to offer a comfortable dining experience. Personable service and, altogether, worth a visit instead of to one of the more prominent names if you’re interested in decent food, a decent atmosphere and at a decent price.

The Park Guest House & Restaurant
30 James St, StornowayWe stayed in Park Suite 1 with our kids. The apartment has been recently renovated and was fantastic for a family with the layout well thought out and modern. The location was really convenient and it was only a 5 minute walk into the centre of Stornoway. Roddy and Catherine were brilliant hosts and on hand in case we needed anything. Would thoroughly recommend.

Big Bite
35 Point St, StornowayBest kebab, curry, and pizza in town. Efficient, rarely had any order mishaps and have been using for years now.
Dietary restrictions: Can't guarantee gluten free due to nature of small busy takeaway kitchen which is entirely understandable.
Good selection of vegetarian dishes

Thai
27 Church St, StornowayNow I understand why most people like to eat Thai food at the restaurant which is runned by local family from the region, the food was delecious and yummy ?. I was very happy with what I ordered. The Thai food in this place execedeed my expectation. The only thing is that the price was not updated on the Google and when we arrive they gave us a new menu with different prices. Still not very expensive but I think they should update the price on the website so people are aware.

12-14 Cromwell St, StornowayI believe the seafood used is fresh and local. Probaly the best King Prawn dish I have had in a Chinese restaurant.
Service was great.
Only downside was it was very quiet, but i would rather have that than too busy.
