Restaurants in Lerwick

No 88 Kitchen and Bar
88 Commercial St, Lerwick, ShetlandDelightful local food and excellent service. Some interesting wines that were sensibly priced. Very busy when we visited so a bit cramped up but the food more than made up for that. One of the more expensive meals of our visit but worth it to me for the menu and quality offered.

The New Harbour Cafe
2 Merson Moads, Lerwick, ShetlandNice little place to get a morning meal. Rolls ans breakfast prices are very fair and get a good amount for your order. Recommend a quick stop by in the morning when your in Lerwick for a quick meal and a light drink.

The Olive Tree
Toll Clock Shopping Centre, Lerwick, ShetlandHad lunch here in the week. Admittedly, we were there at 12.30 bang on a lunchtime, there was a que ( a good sign) it seemed to move quite quickly.
The soup I had was leek, potato, and smoked bacon. It was very tasty. You need to ask for bread to go with it as it's not included. A bannock would've been better , maybe that's me as we were on holiday and keen to try the local food! The cafe has a nice feel to it. Clean and tidy too.

Douglas Arms
67 Commercial Rd, Lerwick, ShetlandSolid bar (public bar is fit for purpose, lounge bar is comfortable and looks nice, both have the football) and drinks selection (only place I’ve seen locally with J Gow Rum), but -1 score for when the bartender nicked my id card and vanished for several minutes before giving me my drink, causing me to lose a table I was going to grab. Also for none of the staff knowing how to turn off the fire alarm.

The Lounge Bar
4 Mounthooly St, Lerwick, ShetlandAttending a (traditional music) Session at The Lounge in Lerwck, Shetland Islands, was a fine experience. We mingled with friendly island residents and enjoyed great fiddle and accordion music. These Sessions are such an institution that a T-Shirt from The Lounge is on display at the Shetland Museum.

Lerwick Brewery
Ladies Dr, Lerwick, ShetlandStopped to try the local beers and had great chat directly from the brewer. 4 beers on tap, 5 more in cans, including a couple of 1 off editions. Easy to find, plenty of parking, clean and still looking more like a tap room than a shop.

Da Steak Hoose
5 Mounthooly St, Lerwick, ShetlandGot scallops for a starter, it was a little too cold and a little unfamiliar with a few slices of sausage ?
Had the fillet as a main course - probably the best prepared and most tender meat ever.
Exceptionally friendly service by a young but very attentive waiter.

Fort Cafe & Take Away
2 Commercial Rd, Lerwick, ShetlandThat is easily the best takeout chippy I’ve had in Scotland. I’m the son of a trawlerman from Hartlepool and know my Old man would say the same. Epic is not too strong a word for the fish I just had.

Raba Indian Restaurant
Raba Indian Restaurant, 26 Commercial Rd, Lerwick, ShetlandThe most delicious curry in Shetland. Recommend as a restaurant but expect to be really quiet as it's a busy takeaway. I had Dacca chicken & prawn curry with lemon rice and a handmade garlic naan.

The Skipidock Cafe
Toll Clock Shopping Centre, Lerwick, ShetlandNice environment, food is cooked fresh that day. Staff friendly nice little rest bite when your out shopping at The Tall Clock. Staff didn't mean us having a little card game at the table after our meal.

The Dowry
98 Commercial St, Lerwick, ShetlandWe had a bit of difficulty in getting the order straight. Parter ordered mushroom nachos but got pulled pork. We were in rush for ferry, so we kept it. It was a bit sickly but ok. I had mushroom soup, which was very good. The beer choice was good, although I ordered half pint, so I could try a second but one pint came. It’s a busy place lots of locals, booking probably required much of time. Nicely modern inside.

Dragon house
Kantersted Rd, Sound, ShetlandA spontaneous decision to grab some dinner as driving past. Very busy and gentleman on counter advised a 45 minute wait, which was fine as I went for a wander nearby.
Food was delicious and reasonably priced.
Would go again if I'm in the area.

Food Culture Lerwick
Clickimin Leisure Complex, N Lochside, Lerwick, ShetlandUnexpectedly good! Came here on a Sunday visit to Lerwick -as we hadn’t realised 99% of cafes are shut on a Sunday.Vibe is obviously ‘leisure centre’ so not fancy, but clean, warm and with a wide cafe menu at reasonable prices. Chips were excellent, as was the coffee & cake. Bacon roll & toastie were also good. Best leisure centre cafe I’ve ever come across for choice & food quality.Parking: Loads of free parkingKid-friendliness: Very kid friendlyWheelchair accessibility: Easy access

C’est la Vie Cafe
181 Commercial St, Lerwick, ShetlandOne of the best lunches I have ever had. Lovely ambiance and friendly people. It was a bit on the pricier side (we are students after all), but good value for the money. Would 100% recommend!

Tasty Hong Kong Takeaway
Commercial Rd, Lerwick, ShetlandFood was deliciouse, however, beef and chicken could be chopped better. The one I've got was almost like having whole cow or chicken... chopped-stick didn't work, had to use fork and knife to cut it for pieces... Smaller pieces r faaaar more handy to pick and eat.
