Restaurants in Laurencekirk
Gannets Northeast limited
63 High St, LaurencekirkPopped in whilst we were in the area for a house viewing. Really lovely shop, very clearly labelled cakes and pastries which is what persuaded us to come in with dietary restrictions.Friendly staff, nice and clean. The giant vegan custard creams… ??Vegetarian options: I didn’t look at the main menu, but the cakes were nicely labelled so I assume the main menu was inclusive!Dietary restrictions: Clearly labelled Gluten free, dairy free and vegan options.Parking: Plenty of on street, free parking in the local area and a small free car park nearby.

Chez Raphaël
25 High St, LaurencekirkI have never tasted such lipsmacking food - I still daydream about it! Yum Yum! Also, the jolly atmosphere and attention to detail was more than I've ever experienced, even in France! Well done to the star Chef!

The Arch Cafe & Bistro
The Arch Cafe and Bistro, Main St, Fettercairn, LaurencekirkStopped off for a (wonderful) coffee before cycling up Cairn O Mount, and rewarded my self with a tasty cullen skink after descending. Great staff, service, food and ambience. As I hadn't booked, I was asked to share a large table with other travellers. Great idea... A social table. Met and chatted to some lovely people. Thoroughly recommend...

Alma
4 Alma Pl, LaurencekirkBeautiful takeaway for two on Saturday night. I recommend the Chicken Korma (mild and sweet) and Chicken Madras (fairly hot) with Naan bread and steamed rice. Lovely onion and mango chutney with papadams too.

Clatterin Brig Restaurant
Cairn O'Mount Rd, Fettercairn, LaurencekirkThe view from this place is brilliant, hidden away in a little valley up on a small hill. The food is not very varied and some items were not available but from the ones chosen, taste was quite good. Went for the cullen skunk soup and hunters chicken complimented by a tropical smoothie. Atmosphere was really great, sat outside due to us having a dog with brilliant views of nature. Recommend this along with a drive towards banchory for some thrilling views.Parking: Parking is fine, plenty of space either down or up the hill right next to the restaurant.

Castleton Farm Shop
Castleton Farm Cottage, Fordoun, LaurencekirkOn our way to Aberdeen, we stopped here to charge the car and have a bite to eat. Would recommend this venue for various reasons - the staff were helpful and friendly, the service was quick, good arrived in good time and was absolutely delicious. Cullen Skink soup was fab, the sausages and mash were described by my other half as the tastiest thing he'd eaten for a while (and were on holiday so eating out a lot), and the prices were value for money.

Lournie Chipper
144 High St, LaurencekirkRecently moved to the area and very confused by the reviews on here. Really nice food with thick cut chips at a sensible price - at first wondered if it was just us that didn't agree with the reviews but have visited with several friends and family and all very much enjoyed it. A bit quirky inside but that's part of the charm I guess. Whatever it was like in the past it is certainly a decent spot to visit for a chippy now!
