Me and my family (my children 8 and 5, me and my husband and my parents) all had a lovely lunch here. The food quality was so good and it had such a lovely atmosphere and nice seating. Very friendly staff and we really enjoyed the menu. My favourite was the houmous which I kept talking about all day which caused some laughter ? and the toasties were the best! My daughter enjoyed the kids tray which was really thoughtfully put together and tasty and my son the waffles which looked amazing and he definitely had no problem eating up.
Thank you, we will be back when next this way (I hope!)

Stronsay Fish Mart Cafe Hostel

Lovely cafe, good lunch food and brilliant home made cakes. The owner was very friendly and gave us recommendations for our day on the island. Recommend to anyone getting off the ferry!

Auld Motor Hoose

Great pub had many a good night here, especially when they have live music .Great atmosphere, very friendly customers and staff.

They don't sell meals, pub snacks available.

Robertsons Coffeehoose & Bar

We stopped off for refreshments on a bike ride from Finstown. It should've been a coffee stop but since it was after 12pm and there were Scapa Brewery ales available, we tried the excellent Scapa Special to go with a fantastic piece of homemade carrot cake. This is a gem of a place, thank you.

St Magnus Community Cafe

This place is cheap and has an old school British cafe vibe that’s so relaxed and pleasant compared to other, fancier places in town. I come here every week while waiting for an appointment, and I’ve got to know a few of the staff by sight and they’re just solid gold. The place is usually pretty busy, especially in the summer, but they just plow through the queue with cheerfulness and efficiency. I watched a young lady (who I haven’t seen much so maybe she’s new) explaining almost every item on the menu to a non-English speaking family, and as someone who works in tourism it was honestly a masterclass in patience and kindness. I couldn’t have done it better. There’s another particular member of staff who I’ve twice seen run out from behind the counter to carry a tray to a table for an older lady with a walking frame. The lady probably could have managed it, but she didn’t have to struggle because the lady anticipated her need and offered without being condescending. It was lovely. And then she apologised when she came back for making us wait for all of twelve seconds. Just fab staff all round, I can’t say enough nice things. I hope they read this.
Also whoever does the baking, 10/10. Had the best scone today.

Richans Retreat

Love richans retreat! very good spot for a quick cuppa and biccy with the hubby and pals. the stirfry was a toptier food with it tickling my tastebuds every bite, yum!

Sakura Kitchen

When you’re in need of some clean food, this is the perfect takeout. We had chicken karage and chili prawn bento boxes. They were excellent. It felt like eating my Japanese friend’s home cooking.

Our family dined here last Saturday and were very impressed with the food, ambience, all the staff, everything really. Try the sundaes, you will not be disappointed. Pizzas also delicious. Just eat here!

Excellent variety of sea food.
We dined in the restaurant which was comfortable with excellent views.
The quality. Of the food and service was excellent.

Food and drinks: We dined in the restaurant. We were not hotel guests as we had visited Orkney in our motorhome. There is a good selection of sea food. Absolutely no complaint about the quality.

The Sands Bar & Restaurant

We were touring the bottom of Orkney last Sunday and needed somewhere for lunch. I picked this place due to both being near where we were and the rating. When we got there, they were fully booked but managed to find us a table in the corner.The food quality was excellent. I especially liked the soup. The atmosphere is also really pleasant. The staff were excellent and attentive and it was excellent value for money. I would certainly recommend here for lunch, but on a Sunday you need to book.

Archive Coffee

I absolutely love this place. Best coffee on the island and brilliant service. Also does great food. Anybody ask where to eat in Kirkwall, this is where I send them.

Royal Cask Whisky Gin Bar

What a place I was in Whiskey Heaven, my girlfriend was in Gin heaven

I sampled some, in my price range drams, from the magnificent Highland Park distillery, I was not disappointed

The bar was tastefully decorated with various bottles of whiskey in cabinets adorning the walls and a large display in the rear bar

Barman seemed to know his stuff and was very helpful

Didn't see much Gin on display, although I did have my Whiskey goggles on, but my girlfriend was very happy with the various tastes available

Wheelchair accessibility: Bar is on ground level from the street, easily accessible

Argo's Bakery

Highly recommend the "fresh cream donut"!! 5 stars.I highly recommend the fresh cream donuts. It’s the best fresh cream I’ve ever tasted in my life. It’s cheap and super delicious. Definitely recommended!!! Go buy it early in the morning because it will be sold out by cruise tourists between 10 and 11 o’clock. I couldn't buy it anymore when I went back later. The milk was average. The cream biscuits were average. The store clerk was very friendly.

Went in for lunch, a nice selection and we caught a quiet time of day. Nice old pub and would return.
