Solway Tide Tearoom
16 St Cuthbert St, KirkcudbrightDelicious soup & bread, matched by the scones. Friendly welcome & service plus a lovely atmosphere both inside & out, we chose the courtyard with the painted wall mural. So glad we chose here on what was our 1st visit to Kirkudbright.

The Selkirk Arms Hotel & Restaurant
High St, KirkcudbrightSays pet friendly but doesn't tell you only outside. Still food was lovely and they gave my pooch his own little water bowl while we ate outside. Would visit again but take warmer clothes if you have a dog with you ?

The Masonic Arms
19 Castle St, KirkcudbrightFound this place by accident while on a Christmas trip. Fantastic little pub, lovely decor, friendly regulars, amazing staff, and when I asked I was told ‘dog friendly but not kid friendly’ which was perfect for us. On top of that they have a couple of decent cask beers on, a good tap selection and one of the most extensive gin selections I’ve ever seen, with flavour notes on botanicals and recommended serves, garnishes and loads of tonics. Been back twice in 2 days and will be coming again. Proper little gem

The Little Bakery
15 St Cuthbert St, KirkcudbrightAn excellent bakery, the pies are delicious and there are a multitude of types. Also lovely staff who will keep your pies warm while you stroll round Kirkcudbright and then box them up with napkins for a picnic. The macaroni and pancetta was particularly delicious, but then they all were.

Station House Cookery School
St Mary St, KirkcudbrightA great place to hone your cookery skills, Nick (the tutor) demonstrates during the morning, what he cooks then provides lunch for the students, then it’s hands on in the kitchen during the afternoon. Have done a Greek day and an Indian vegetarian day … absolutely brilliant.
