The Caddy Mann
Mounthooly, JedburghDietary restrictions: 4 of us rocked up at fairly short notice, after a day’s walking on the Borders Abbey Way … one vegetarian, one gluten intolerant, the other two open to anything. 3 of us went for the veggie tagine… it was superb, freshly cooked from scratch. We had to drive, so we did not look at the wine list… got the feeling it would have been pretty good. The ambience was relaxed and comfortable, the staff were charming and efficient. Probably the best meal out we have had in a long time.

Simply Scottish
6-8 High St, JedburghA nice place in the center close to the abbey. Completely in the Scottish atmosphere, especially because of all the 'Scottish' items they sell. The coffee is decent as is the food. Quite a wide choice. Made my own roast beef sandwich and haggis on flatbread. First time haggis so can't compare but the roast beef was well prepared.

Out-there Artisan
Harestanes Main Building, Ancrum, JedburghSeriously good! If you're in the Scottish Borders and are looking for a vibrant café offering a delightful menu of vegan and vegetarian dishes, Out-There Artisan is a must-visit ?❤️
The cafe is in a beatiful countryside setting, has a warm & inviting vibe, with a lovely courtyard and indoor seating area that reflects their commitment to quality (loved the copper coloured stainless steel cuttlery - nice touch!) The menu exclusively features vegetarian and vegan options and it’s clear they've a strong purpose and passion behind their food.
For lunch I had the red pepper houmus & feta filled flatbread & my partner dove into the sriracha halloumi bagel. Both dishes were not only creative & delicious, but they were also beautifully (& confidently) presented. It's strange sometimes what sticks in your head, but I got to try a bit of the bagel - the guacamoli *chefs kiss* ?
What stood out most though, was the dedicated front of house & waiting staff. They worked tirelessly, stayed calm even though it was very busy & were super-friendly. They really made us feel welcomed and valued ?
I want to give a mention to the products at the till too. You know, it's a small thing, but I don't recall there being any plastic! I liked the bee bombs (these wee guys need our help) and small-batch products from local suppliers ?
I'm really glad we visited. Five stars for providing a lunch experience that aligns with greener lifestyles. Well deserved.

Border Meringues
Unit 1, Old Station Yard, Edinburgh Rd, JedburghLots of parking. But coffee/cappuccino is not great. We three had 3 hot drinks and a piece of cake, scone and caramel square with a bill of almost 20 pounds. I find it on the dear side.

Abbey Bridge Stove Centre
Unit 2, Riverside Works, Edinburgh Rd, JedburghOur visit here was unexpectedly brilliant! We came as a family and had a range of dishes from pizza, to all day breakfast to toasties and soup. Everything was beautifully cooked and very delicious. The portions were huge - enough that we took pizza home and had it for lunch the next day. What a find! We’ll definitely be back - if I could rate more than 5 stars I would.

Lilliardsedge Tavern Bar & Restaurant
Lilliardsedge Tavern Bar, JedburghMy family ate here 3 nights during a 4 night stay at the caravan park. The food every night was absolutely delicious ??. I had the 6oz flank steak, corn fed chicken breast and full rack of ribs. Would recommend all three dishes. My meals ranged from £14-£19 and would say they were good value for money. Staff were great too.

Golden River Chinese Takeaway
16 Canongate, JedburghPhoned in an order, told it would take 15 mins but on arrival it wasn't ready, we then waited another 15 mins until it was ready.
Prices seem very expensive, almost cost £20 for just one meal, but when we got home the portions were huge, it could easily feed 3 people.
Food was very nice and enjoyable but nothing was amazing!
