My wife and I caught them on a bad night. Our service was inconsistent, at best. More frustrating for us - we watched three couples arrive after us, but get food service long before us. One of those couples was served dessert before we received our main courses. And we ordered the special. It took about 20 minutes after we finished dessert before we found a member of the wait staff to request our check. We waited another 10 minutes for someone to come by so we could actually pay the bill. Thoroughly frustrated, we walked our bill to the bar to pay. Despite all of the trials and tribulations with service, the food was excellent, and the setting is romantic. It's a beautiful restaurant.

The food and service here is so fantastic that we visited it twice during our short stay in Inverness. We highly recommend the haggis stuffed chicken with whisky cream sauce and black pudding mashed potatoes, the steak pie with potatoes, and the pan seared salmon. The quality of the dishes and the complexity of the flavors was sublime. The service was equally attentive! 5 stars!!

This is of the few options in the city center that seems to be open early which is why we ended up coming here and I’m so glad we did! The banana bread lattes are amazing and we got an avocado toast with pico de gallo and a toffee apple cinnamon roll which were both delicious as well. Service was quick and the ambiance of the cafe is also great - cozy and fun music playing the whole time!

The restaurant managed to fit us in on an evening where they’d received lots of pre-bookings. Friendly waitress who was very busy and working hard throughout the time we were there - this did come across as a little frantic at times, which made me feel a bit rushed. Food was very nice - my husband enjoyed his pizza, and it’s lovely to get a good quality vegetarian risotto. The portion size of this seemed smaller compared with the same dish I had eaten previously at other Bella Italias. Sides were nice. Wish that items such as sweet potato fries and mozzarella sticks were vegetarian - sadly, they aren’t marked as such on the menu (possibly because they use fryers to cook these which might also be used for meat/fish products?) Signed up for the app and was able to redeem an offer for a free main course, so that made the meal good value for money. Toilets were below average, not clean and lacking toilet paper. Not sure when they had last been checked!

We had an excellent lunch stop here while briefly in the town of Inverness. We picked this place partially because it was a recommendation by renowned travel writer Rick Steves back in 2014. It is also located conveniently in the heart of the commercial district and right alongside the Ness River. \n\nOur friendly and engaging hostess/manager was Alina, a 17 year veteran. They have a cozy and attractive 2 story high ceilinged setting and we sat on the 2nd floor. The lunch menu was a variety of high quality 2 course selections for a very reasonable 18.95 GBP. Our party of 4 had a delicious and beautifully presented lunch. For the mains, I had their traditional fish pie and wife had their filet of seabass. Our travel mates had their rump steak and red pesto gnocchi. It got busy and the kitchen might have gotten backed up and it took a little while on the food, but we enjoyed hanging out here. Service was otherwise friendly and attentive. Highly recommended should you find yourselves in the lovely town of Inverness.

Simpsons Garden Centre in Inverness offers a wide range of products for gardening, home decor, and more, with something for everyone. The variety is impressive, and the store is well-organized. However, I find the prices on some products fair but most of them to be ridiculously overpriced.

I’ve visited the coffee shop and restaurant many times, but I feel compelled to leave a negative review after my recent experiences. The staff is consistently rude, and I’ve observed multiple occasions where food was served without gloves. Even worse, I’ve seen staff touching their faces, mobile phones, and kitchen bells before handling food, which is concerning from a hygiene perspective. The coffee is equally disappointing—it really needs some serious improvement. The lack of coffee training is obvious, and the drinks are consistently poor quality. I’m making an exception in leaving this review because, as a regular customer, I’ve had enough of the subpar service and unsatisfactory food and drink experiences.

I came here everyday while in Inverness for their Old Fashioned. The guy in the bar really showed passion while preparing the cocktail. The place is a cozy little bar, with a few seats available- in a welcoming and charming atmosphere. It was perfect to finish the day and get ready for dinner, while enjoying a nice drink. Their whiskey selection is massive and their cocktail list is for every taste. They also have beer and wine. It doesn’t matter what type of drink you’re into, the place is just a must! I saw they also have whiskey taste, but I didn’t have the chance to try. To flag, they don’t have food in here. Highly recommend, one of my favourite spots in Inverness.

The kindness of the staff is the first thing thing that impressed my group, the cost of food and beverage was amazing. The food was delicious. Did not break the bank. We had full breakfasts, baked potatoes and toasties. My full breakfast including ïtoast and a pot of tea was only £11. We were also given free Easter eggs... And more. My friends and I will be back... It will be the first stop we will make on it next trip to Glasgow.

On a Sunday, around 1:00 pm, I needed coffee to continue walking, exploring Inverness. Earlier that day, I walked to the Dolphin Spirit to take the morning tour. After I purchased a cappuccino, I chose to stand leanlng against the cement fence. My hot coffee resting on the fence, while I searched on Google Maps where to go. A local stopped at the Ness Walk Kiosk with his two teen boys and his extrovert ginger hair daughter. The local man felt comfortable with me and started to chat, noticing that I am a tourist, while his children ate their snack.
I enjoyed watching how his daughter felt completely at ease with her father. He brought to my attention two places nearby, the Castle Tavern with the view of the Castle and Tomnahurich Cemetery on a hill with an excellent view of Inverness.
The Ness Walk Kiosk satisfying coffee gave me the energy to follow his suggestion on that same day.

We heard music playing and decided to stop. The front area where the bar and stage are is small but we were lucky to snag a small table to sit and enjoy the music. I got the vibe it was more tourists than locals but there definitely was a mix of both. We had a drink and then headed on to our next music venue.

A lovely little cafe wonderfully positioned across the road from The Falls. Great coffee and cakes (some vegan options too!! ???), friendly staff and it was a very welcome place to rest after our day’s leg of the South Loch Ness Trail ?
A special shout-out of thanks to the wonderfully helpful and kind gent who helped me package up a pair of no-longer-needed hiking shoes ready for postage and who refilled our water bottles - ?

It may look a little grubby and run down, might not pass every FSA check if it gets a on the spot check, but, the food is good, I ordered a king rib supper as it was one of the more recent complaints to see if it was as bad as it was made out to be.

It wasn't, the food was absolutely fine. There were other gripes I had but that's me things so I won't mark them for that, other than the food the staff member was a polite guy and the food options were, and exhausting arm long list, that said they did pull it off.

Decor is dated and the place could use gutting, it looks unhealthy. Other than that, good scran!

The lady who serves and makes this tasty fresh food is so kind and sweet! She made us laugh while cooking up the most delicious loaded chips. My teenagers age their full “black” boxes. The canal view isn’t bad either, with some interesting boats passing by and people fishing and riding bikes, talking and relaxing.

My husband and I stayed at Castle View Guest House and it was wonderful. Eleanor was the loveliest host (love ya guts)!! She went above and beyond to make sure we were settled in & well taken care of. Eleanor's scones served with an array of her home made jams and clotted cream were divine. Our room was so sweet and comfortable. The location is fantastic!! We would definitely recommend staying here to everyone.

The server that interacted with us the most never smiled. Like G Miller said in the review 1 month ago, the overall experience was not "wow". Instead, it was "meh" and for the pricing, we wanted "wow".

What an absolute gem of a place, we are a family of 4 with two small children who managed to get a very last minute room thanks to the accommodating staff here. The hospitality of this place, especially the managers Ryan and Steph is fantastic and made us all so welcome. The food was delicious and impressed with their handling of gluten free as I am Coeliac. Room was spacious, cosy and very clean. Really impressed with the whole place and wish the community all the best with their take over. Already off to a great start by the looks of things. We will be singing the praises of this lovely place for a long time to come. Thank you ?

Order only through a QR code, which is on each corner of the table with the table number. Although grilled dishes in the menu are indicated with serving in 45 minutes, the order was completed much faster. I recommend this establishment.
