Tony's Takeaway Hawick
15 Kenilworth Ave, Hawick2hr wait for cold, soggy food which was also not what we ordered! Two calls chasing it and the guy only blamed the single delivery driver for taking his time, not even an apology - definitely won't be back, which is a shame as it used to be good...

Office Bar
6 Tower Knowe, HawickJake and his wife and team run a very friendly, fun pub. As a solo traveler, they made me very welcome, with converstaion and banter alike. Football & sports on TV and great beers on tap. If you're walking home, don't have more than one "Fletchers Special" (a secret recipe)! Thanks Jake & team! See you again.

Damascus Drum
2 Silver St, HawickOne of a kind. Small, a bookshop/library with food! Recent extension of hours from 3pm to 5 (I'll check if I'm wrong). A small selection of edibles on offer, but always a pleasure to sample the delights, and contrary to other establishments, (well behaved) dog friendly. Even children (same criteria applies)!
Can get a little busy lunchtimes, but I've never had to wait. Highly recommended, though if you are a book lover hide the wallet, as temptation is all to prevalent whilst sampling the Guinness cake. Regular readers will know I'm a bit of a coffee snob, and this place lives up to my expectations....
Parking: Free local parking is generally available, We tend to park at the Common Haugh the other side of town and walk the ten minutes. There IS local parking and if you are respectful of the space shouldn't be a problem.
Hawick has yet to discover the 'joy' of revenue enhancement through 'enforcement', just park sensibly and all will be well!!

Stags Head
13 Drumlanrig Square, HawickNice to see this pub open again. Had my first pint in here in 1969 when I was 16 lol before the school dance. Robert has made a nice job modernising the bar and has made it a nice pleasant place for a pint. Darts, pool and a 'juke box' available along with a small lounge.

Station
1 Dovemount Pl, HawickCame across this place on my way to Hermitage Castle. Most unexpected. Old train engines and carriages on bits of railway lines. It was part of the old line between Hawick and Carlisle. It's only open occasionally and was closed when I was there. Still worth stopping and taking a look.

Cream Puff
Kirkside, Denholm, HawickStaying in Hawick on a short break and had travelled along the road to Jedburgh and saw the Cream Puff on our way there so travelling back we decided to stop for a cuppa. A lovely, friendly atmosphere with a great mix of locals and tourists. We opted for tea and lovely fresh scones with jam, all absolutely delicious. There was soup, sandwiches, toasties, panninis and a whole array of fresh, delicious looking cakes and traybakes. This is certainly somewhere we'd recommend if your in the area and somewhere we'll definitely visit again when we're next down this way.

1 Westside, Denholm, HawickWe popped by after a trip to York. When down south, we looked around the city for the highest rated pizza places and settled on a certified Nepolitan pizza restaurant. The pizza there was great.... but the pizza here blew it out of the water. One of the best I've had in years. Really impressed. Will definitely be back whenever popping through.
