The Crown & Thistle

Our first visit and very definitely not our last, we just turned up without booking and the staff couldn't have been more accommodating, sufficient time to browse the menu without feeling pressured and the food,superb and very reasonably priced. We'll definitely be back.

Gretna Chase Hotel

Excellent family run hotel. Super comfy bed and spotlessly clean room and hotel. Lovely outside area for drinks . Staff are friendly and helpful. Local to all amenities including shopping outlet.

Walkability: 2 minutes walk ( all flat ) to the shopping outlet and local pub.

Old Toll Bar Cafe

Stopped in here for a quick bite before heading down to Blackpool and I must admit is a lovely wee cafe that's quiet and spotlessly clean. Prices are very good considering the area is a big tourist attraction. I chose soup and a sandwich special where my wife picked cheese and tomato toasties. Staff were lovely and outside the back of the carpark theres a monument built by people from all over the UK year and years ago

Parking: Parking to the rear of the cafe and it's the last building before you enter or leave Scotland.

Gretna Hall Hotel

We got married on monday 10th March 2025. our day was absolutely beautiful thanks to all the wonderful staff. The blonde lady (I'm really sorry I can't remember her name) made sure every detail was perfect and couldn't help enough! anything she could help with or do she would do without hesitation. the rooms were all beautiful and all of the guests commented on how wonderful the food was. the only fault I can give it the bar manager was really grumpy and didn't have time for my guests which did put a dampener on our evening. however, olly, who worked behind the bar in the function room was amazing and he had fun with all our guests and joined in with our celebrations and also David who worked behind the other bar was a good laugh too. thank you to all the amazing staff who made our day beautiful! Mr and Mrs Hatton❤️❤️

Metal Bridge Inn

We stumbled on the Metal Bridge Inn on our way back from Scotland. What a little gem. Large parking area for Motorhomes and with toilets and a small service point for chemical toilets. You have to eat in restaurant to stay… not a problem there as the options were a plenty, lovely food and great service from friendly staff and reasonably priced as well…. Even have moretti on tap which was a bigger bonus!
Only slight downside was you can hear the motorway which is quite close, however it soon fades out of hearing and you get used to it. You could wear ear plugs if necessary.
Overall a great spot, highly recommended and we will visit it again on our regular journeys

Pizza Express

Travelled from Newcastle family were hungry stopped off at Gretna Green in for a pizza the chef's who were on were amazing the pizzas were brilliant and the staff were attentive to our needs and polite would definitely recommend Gretna Green pizza expess food great

The Gretna Inn

Popped in here for a bite to eat on the way home, lovely feel to the place. Family friendly with a good choice of starters, mains & desserts on offer alongside a 'specials' board. Really good portion size & food really tasty, quick service with friendly & attentive staff. Will definitely use again when back in the area.

Blacksmiths Restaurant

My wife and I were recently married at this wonderful, friendly, beautiful site. The rooms are clean and comfortable, the staff are so helpful and friendly and the food is delicious. Our whole visit including the wedding was seamless. We couldn't have asked for a more perfect day. Thanks so much to everyone involved for the help and kindness, including locals who took pictures for us, we will be back ☺️

Mystic Palace

Brilliant chinese only waited 15 minutes had sweet n sour prawns and sweet n sour chicken and rice and chips ,cooked perfectly .Will never go to longtown chinese again its disgusting they can't even cook chips properly

Sark Services

We only bought ice cream. It was a lovely day, and nowhere locally sells them unless it's McDonald's. Lovely ice cream, lots of flavours, shop was very busy.

The Cadbury Shop

It's ok, not as good value as it used to be.. but what is anymore.
Prices are cheaper for some products in the supermarkets.
Place was clean and tidy and the staff were friendly.
The shop has a large quantity of products on shelfs but not the best selection.

Smiths at Gretna Green Hotel

We got married on the 28th of December 2024, everything was perfect . The food was amazing, the cleanliness outstanding, our rooms were lovely and all of the staff were professional, polite and very friendly nothing was to much trouble. They made our day very special.

Starbucks Coffee

Coffee medium £4.50 expensive ,my gran god bless her she'd batter me for paying that ,when she brought up 8 children all girls on rabbit home grown veg ,home baking,rashing books ?

Recently came here for coffee and pastry. Service was great, pastrie was good but coffee was terrible. Perfectly located right near the highway near the shopping center.

Solway Pizzeria

Just started using them again after movinf out of gretna. I must say my last couple orders have been really niceKid-friendliness: My little one loves that he gets a lolly in his kids meal

Subway

Just want to say a big thanks to the staff on 26 August 2024. They had closed as it was 6 pm already but still managed to served us as with 3 sandwiches as we were hungry and tired. Thank you so much guys. Relished our dinner ???
