McDonald's
An Aird, Fort WilliamI am glad that McDonald's has staff like Sarita and Mushkaan. Sarita showed me such empathy which is rare to see nowadays. Because of these two ladies I will choose McDonald over fancy restaurant any given time. Keep up the great service and smile, it's rear even in hospitality business.
Vegetarian options: They have vegan burgers and rolls

Black Isle Bar Fort William
Gordon Square, Fort WilliamHave visited a Black Isle bar in Inverness I knew what to expect in Fort William, i.e., excellent pizzas with good selection of beer in a relaxed no fuss bar/pizzeria. Service was good, so was beer. Pizza excellent as usual. Would not hesitate to visit again.

The Caddy Shack Bar and Restaurant
North Road, Fort WilliamHas such a good meal here. We were looking for something in the area that had something other than the standard pub fare. I was a bit surprised when we pulled in and it was just a little spot attached to a small golf club house. Nothing fancy at all. But what it lacks in ambiance it makes up for with the food. My wife and I had the shepherds pie and it was so good. We would definitely go back if we are in the area again !

The Geographer
88 High St, Fort WilliamWe got a table for dinner (they accept walk-ins, it doesn't appear they accept reservations).
The food was great, comparable to other places in town, but maybe a bit more than we were expecting to pay.
The mussels were excellent and the Korean Chicken sandwich was really good. Portion sizes were generous.
Service was great and we felt like they did a good job not rushing us out the door despite how busy they were.

Nevis Bakery
49 High St, Fort WilliamHad the lunch to go as advertised outside the bakery. Really filling and good value. The que was almost out the door, and the two ladies serving was doing their best. Two separate counters and tills would help better. Nothing as annoying as a tourist dithering over cash or, card payments. And only one item being bought. Pie's taste superb.

Lochaber Cafe
Belford Rd, Fort WilliamThe Lochaber Cafe is a small cafe situated in the train station. It's nice, friendly, and good. My wife had the full Scottish breakfast and I had Eggs Balmoral which is basically haggis Eggs Benedict. It was very good with haggis, poached Eggs and hollandaise sauce over English muffins. Prices were very reasonable.

We tried vegetarian pizza and grilled halloumi wrap which we liked very much but the curry option was ok but not so good.

West Highland Restaurant
Belford Rd, Fort WilliamI was here in early April 2024 during a 4 day stay in Fort William for some mountain hiking. On a slightly rainy daybit was lovely to visit the shops here, and also the restaurant. They served enjoyable dishes for lunch, the service was very friendly and very smooth. I just had a small wine, a lovely vegetable soup served with a bun, and something sweet as a desert. There was no rush, and I enjoyed talking my time while also having brought something to read. It was spacious, calm, and just very enjoyable.

Morrisons Cafe
An Aird, Road, Fort WilliamI seen a review from someone complaining they had come to Scotland but couldn't get an english breakfast from here. ? Sorry to break it to you, but you're in another country - Scotland, and here you will get a Scottish breakfast. ? Food was nice, staff advised that there was a short wait ( I arrived at lunchtime when you'd expect a small wait). Last time I was at the cafe was 6 years ago and now just as good. Good value for a small Scottish breakfast too £4.50 for a slice of lorne, bacon, egg, tomato, 2 slice of toast, butter, beans and a choice of sauces. Will definitely be back again.

Lochleven Seafood Café
B863, Onich, Fort WilliamWe were looking for dinner after our hike. They were able to accommodate us, a party of two, moments after checking in with host or chef.
Vibe is excellent here. There seems to be a family-style in one room and a romantic-evening in another for dinner, base on table and party sizes. Family side is more dimmed and filled with conversations /laughs. Romantic side is brighter with whispers in the air.
Service is a tad bit slow but not non-existent. Our waiter visits us when they can spare time.
Food is great for our evening. The razor clam and scallop is worth a mention. Both are without sand, and cooked to a buttery and fluffy texture. Clams can use a bit more whites for my liking, but I'm not the chef tonight.
My wife and I enjoyed this pleasant evening on our anniversary trip, thanks for having us!

The Crofter Bar and Restaurant
11 High St, Fort WilliamWe have eaten some great food in Scotland, and this place is one of the top for taste. It has a great pub atmosphere, and it seemed that a lot of locals were eating when we visited. For me, that's one of the best indicators of great food. The prices were also some of the most reasonable we have seen.
