Inverlochy Mains, North Rd, Fort WilliamCalled in when passing on our first day of three in the area. Ended up going every day! Lovely raspberry scones, although I was upset my wife's had more than twice the amount of raspberries than mine ? Good choice of coffees and great flavour. Bought a couple of hand/body moisturisers from the main shop. All round good stopping place.

Macari's
90 High St, Fort WilliamLovely chips and even got a free battered sausage with my order! Staff were very nice and welcoming even though the customers weren't extremely welcoming to outsiders but that isn't the owners fault. Prompt service with a 5 minute wait on average for a small chips and two battered sausages.Vegetarian options: Plenty vegetarian options to satisfy any vegetarians.Dietary restrictions: Has a chart to show you which food has what types of additives which could affect someone's allergies or diet. Staff are willing to discuss and help. Wonderful- never seen such a good approach to dietary requirements even in restaurants one hundred times more expensive.Parking: Either go down to Morrisons to park for free or cheap parking near the main road and the Loch.Kid-friendliness: As kid friendly as a chip shop needs to be.Wheelchair accessibility: Steps and no ramp. Poor wheelchair accessibility.

McDonald's
An Aird, Fort WilliamUsual issues, as with all McDonald's, warmish food delivery. If you must have self order points - enough and working would help.Manual order point appeared unmanned.A glimmer of a smile would also not go amiss. This was not my worst experience of a McDonalds but its still not a good experience.Only ever use for convenience while travelling, not a destination of choice.Parking: As usual bays are too small - and I don't have a large car.

KFC Fort William - North Road
2 North Rd, Fort WilliamThe people of Fort William have spoken - this is the worst KFC in the country.I was eager to try it, but was left bitterly disappointed by hot, succulent chicken and excellent service. It definitely wasn’t quite the normal KFC herbs and spices flavour - I think a bit more pepper than usual - but decent fried chook nevertheless.

The Geographer
88 High St, Fort WilliamSimple food but done very well! Stopped off on the off chance as they had a good gluten free offering. Turns out the Owen is coeliac, so he gets it when looking for something gluten free.I can personally recommend the burger, proper tasty hand made burger and busting out of the gluten free bun.Only disappointment was no gluten free beer. Maybe they could do a deal with the brewery around the corner as they offer a lovely lager and IPA GF.Been a queue to get in all night so that should tell you everything you need to know. Get down early.Dietary restrictions: Great gluten free selectionKid-friendliness: Decent menu for little ones and offered crayons and small cup for little man’s water

Sammy's Fish & Chip Shop
Kilmallie Rd, Caol, Fort WilliamMaybe it’s a area thing ,felt we were slightly not wanted but then service warmed up and was great ,we do ask lots of unnecessary questions and it might get on some peoples nerves so we don’t mind really . Nice chips and fish cakes others had sausage fish also curry sauce is a must .Very British fish an chips in the motor during a storm , great holiday feel and alright price not even a tender for mine. Spice Tandoori
141 High St, Fort WilliamThis deserves to be much higher than it is! We read the reviews before hand and glad we ignored the harsher ones. This place is a solid Indian, curries were flavoursome and the mushroom rice was especially tasty! The service was super friendly and attentive, as well as the surprisingly beautiful views you get when you sit out back.

Maryburgh Inn
36A High St, Fort WilliamA legendary place, where pints, patter and pizza all come together to form a scene similar to that of the birth of Jesus Christ. Not only does the pub boast its own mascot by the name of Jeff Fungus, it also boasts its own drive thru. Having experienced the pints patter pizza drive thru I am now enlightened and have purchased several quad buggys. A must vist.

Morrisons Cafe
An Aird, Road, Fort WilliamI seen a review from someone complaining they had come to Scotland but couldn't get an english breakfast from here. ? Sorry to break it to you, but you're in another country - Scotland, and here you will get a Scottish breakfast. ? Food was nice, staff advised that there was a short wait ( I arrived at lunchtime when you'd expect a small wait). Last time I was at the cafe was 6 years ago and now just as good. Good value for a small Scottish breakfast too £4.50 for a slice of lorne, bacon, egg, tomato, 2 slice of toast, butter, beans and a choice of sauces. Will definitely be back again.
