The Mill Forfar

There were 9 of us here for the Christmas lunch on the 17th of December,meal was lovely,but very disappointed there was no crackers,Xmas napkins,or table decoration,certainly didn’t look like a Christmas table.

The Rupali Palace

Craving Indian food on my drive through Scotland, I decided to stop by here. WOW. Best decision I made. Incredible, great tasting food for a great price. The ambiance and kindness of the staff blew me away. I really felt like I paid regular fast Indian food pricing for a superb dining experience. Real roses on the tables, heated towels after, and the staff even opened the door for me as I left.Would highly recommend The Rupali Palace to anyone anywhere in this part of rural Scotland. As an American on a quick tour thru Europe, this is easily the best dining experience I’ve had on this entire trip.

Castle Club

What find, we went there with our Scottish friends and were very impressed. Friendly welcome and excellent service. The food was fantastic, good size portions and well cooked. Go easy on the mains as if you have the high tea the cakes and scones are delicious. Highly recommended.

The Stag

Went for the quiz night on Thursday and really enjoyed it. Had a meal but there wasn't much choice for vegetarians. Will be going back for the quiz night though.Vegetarian options: Only one meal for vegans and an extra one for vegetarians. Not really anything I would have so I wouldn't go back for a meal.

Jeet

Once seated we were cordially greeted by a young well presented lad, took our drink order with a smile, great start!As a party of four he helped explain the menu & made suggestions of the best dishes.Portions are enormous, good value & flavoursome without being too spicy!I would say this is the go to place to eat in Forfar even higher rated than a The Stag!Only improvement to be made, would be bring back the Golden Dragon Christmas lantern decorations!I was so good my wife left her first ever tip!

West End Bar

This was a pleasant place to go drink and talk to the locals. my friend said we'll go here because there's no fights and it's close to the police department which is right down the street. it was great we got into a fight at closing time right outside on the street, it was all over in 5 minutes. It's a cash-only bardon't plan on buying everybody's drink with your credit card ring cash.

Zoar Inn - Forfar (Zoar Inn , Forfar Scotland)

Excellent value for money. Clean warm and very comfortable.Paul, the owner was very welcoming and accommodating to the point of waiting for us because we arrived much later than expected . Full marks and many thanks for bailing out two stressed and tired customers . We were really well looked after. We will certainly stay there again if in the area.I would recommend this place to anyone.

Dunnichen Stone

Very nice meal. Well attended friendly staff. Only one disappointment was I had to ask for extra custard as my apple crumble was a bit dry and you don't get much custard. Willingly brought to me, but I didn't realised until I got home that I had been charged for it! £1 for a tiny jug.

10 Cafe Bar

Great evening at this bar on Sunday, for some live music up the stairs. Billy Liar and friends entertained the crowd upstairs while friendly staff served us. The sound was great, the atmosphere was cracking. This place has really cool decor, with classic punk 7"s and LPs lining the walls, it's stylish, chilled out and has a great selection of drinks and cocktails. A jumping place in Forfar, with nice owners, attentive staff and space for live gigs 5*

Sultan Turkish Restaurant

Went here on Tues to celebrate my 60th, from the moment we walked in friendly welcome, there was happy birthday lights on table my friend organised balloon at my seat.Taken to the table ordered Turkish shot, aniseed flavour I cant remember the name and bottle of prosecco.We were given few minutes when waitress took out order,We both ordered Sucuk my favourite comes salad spiced onion sausage and warm pitta bread is very tasty, then I ordered Yogurtlu kebab with pitta, my friend had Karasikizgara normally served with rice she had swap rice pitta bread not problem plates come very hot but your are warned it kept the meal hot though out, I never had sweet but friend had baklava did have small bit try. Then my cake came out. The food was fantastic very talented female chef.If you want fantastic food and service I would recommend Sultan ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ 5 star

Cravin Crrispy Forfar

Price for quality food you don't get anymore. Tons of order access and variety, and the staff have all been great, behind the register and the delivery driver. They smash the meal every time. A top restaurant, where the food tastes as hot and fresh as it were made in front of you. Everything lives up to the name: two R's cRRispy! It's so good, I'd support keeping the business open myself, but starting now with word of mouth.

The Osnaburg

Fantastic friendly pub. Sunday was quiz night and we were welcomed like locals. The Jarl real ale was good and the locals all friendly and accomodating. A lovely sense of community here. Green King who own the lease would be foolish to lose this gem of a local community pub.

Old Masons Arms

Always a great atmosphere and the place to go before your night ends!! Great music and drink. Find all walks of life that mingle well. Needs a little freshen up but at 11pm your having so much fun to even notice ??

Purdeys

Passing through Forfar needing a quick bite to eat and the first 2 food takeaways have closed for the day, you come across your 3rd and final attempt purdeys, which was further down the Google list, All I can say is this shop should be top of the list, the girl on duty was all tidied up and went out of her way to cook my toasties, she could easily of said no, with the sorry I’m getting out of here attitude, but nope she bent over backwards which was really appreciated and even added salad to my takeaway, all in all the service was outstanding and the toasties were fantastic, I hope this puts a smile on your face and it’s a pity there aren’t more like yourself in this world, thank you very much.
