The Bakehouse
7 High St, EarlstonI was passing through Earlston with a colleague who told me about this wee gem that he'd enjoyed before so we parked up and joined the queue. I wasn't disappointed! This place hit all the marks. Clean and fresh looking with appetising food, great service from friendly efficient staff and tremendous value. Highly recommended!

Alfonso's
High St, EarlstonThis is a fantastic chippy. Although it is the only one around for miles, I think if another chippy opened up nearby, they'd be hard pushed to beat Alfonso's. I gave it a 4 star because every now and then, the chips would be a bit dry or overcooked. Or the batter on the fish might be dry, and the fish itself might be dry. I do have to say, though, it's quite rare this happens.

Rhymers Tower Coffee Shop and Restaurant
Melrose Rd, EarlstonWe were passing after viewing a car nearby, went in for a bottle of water, came out with three scones. We all agreed that they were the best scones we had ever had. Wish I could give 6 stars.
