High St, DornochAfter seeing the cafe being so well recommended I thought I'd pop in and try them. I went for the hot chocolate, oh my! I don't think I'll be able to have powdered hot chocolate ever again. This was amazing, delicious without being overpoweringly sweet, creamy and a big pile of whipped cream on top. I did have to use a spoon to start with to prevent the cream going down my top. Wonderful hot chocolate and cannot wait to go back.

Golf Rd, DornochIt’s a shame you’re limited to 5 stars - this should be 6! An absolutely stunning hotel where every single person we met made us feel right at home and super welcome. The rooms are stunning with really comfy beds. Mara, the restaurant, is out of this world good. The new head chef is a culinary magician - every single thing we ate was out of this world delicious. Durnoch beach at sunrise is something else - very accessible with a short easy walk through the links golf course next door. We are already booking our next trip.

High St, DornochServed quickly by very friendly staff. Nothing was any trouble for them.
Baked potatoes were lovely with nicely presented fresh salad. Good selection on menu. Plenty of seating available inside and some outside. Bought some homemade cake to takeaway, very nice they were too.

Harry Gow Bakery - Dornoch
2 High St, DornochAt Harry Gow's, you can definitely have your cake AND eat it. I never miss an opportunity to stop in when up the north of Scotland, which is, thankfully, becoming increasingly regular due to more work up that way.
We have our amazing bakery shops in Glasgow, but Harry Gow's is the Jewel in the Crown of baked goods across Moray & the Highlands. Don't miss it if you're up that way. Amazing produce, fresh as ever, buzzing stores and friendly staff.

Castle St, DornochWe entered intrigued by the beautiful structure and the Italian menu. We wanted to try the pizzas (smoked salmon and spicy salami with honey). Really good with an unusual harmony of flavors. Compliments to the kitchen. Reasonable prices. One of the best pizzas outside of Italy I have ever tasted.

Jail Dornoch
Castle St, DornochThis has to be the most friendly and helpful plus welcoming place I have ever had the good fortune to visit in the north of Scotland, staff are above five stars and will go above and beyond for all who grace their presence, never thought I'd say this but that's 1 jail all should visit, because they will show you what true highland spirit is.

The First Tee, DornochWe had a lovely lunch today with friends to celebrate their 30th wedding anniversary. Stunning backdrop view over Dornoch’s first tee and the Dornoch Firth, great service courtesy of Julia and a wonderful meal. Everyone left with huge smiles! Looking for a lunch venue and you appreciate a view then this has to be a top pick.

The Links Beach car park, DornochThis was an unexpected find and a real gem. Good, tastie food (we had gluten-free bacon, avocado and sweet chilli rolls). Friendly and welcoming staff. Thoroughly recommend.

BUSINESS RETAIL PARK, DornochBest Indian food for miles (and their Fish and Chips from their shop next door is brilliant too). Lovely large menu and everything we've tried so far has been delicious.
The staff are always very friendly too.
Like many places in Dornoch, the prices are a little higher than surrounding towns but in this case, their food is definitely worth the cost.
Vegetarian options: Plenty of veggie options (both vegetable and paneer) and they're always cooked perfectly.

Milltown, Evelix, DornochCalled in travelling south on final leg of the NC500, great service, seated straight away and order taken. Large baguette filled with coronation chicken and chips (salad option) £7.00 very friendly, probably won't be back this way but would recommend to others.

Coach House Bar & Restaurant
Castle St, DornochCame for a visit with our two German shepherds. The menu is great and we chose a soup and sandwich combo we had cauliflower soup and a roasted vegetable with mozzarella and chilli jam panini toasted. Great portion size and the food was so tasty and the price was very reasonable. The bar man was so friendly too and we definetly would cone back to this place
