The Glenturret Distillery
The Glenturret Distillery, The Hosh, CrieffVisited here on Tuesday 15th October as part of a coach tour. Can I just give a shout out to Jamie who was our guide for the tour round. Very informative and interesting to learn the history of the distillery, also a big thanks to him for including my granddaughter and making her feel at ease.
At the end you get to sample a wee dram very nice indeed. Plus they have a nice coffee shop if that's your preferred choice. Good facilities.

The Tea Garden at Comrie Croft
Braincroft, CrieffWhat a find! We have lived in Lochearnhead for several years and have only just discovered Comrie Croft Tea Room. Lovely, quirky atmosphere and excellent food which we ate outside under cover. ‘Buddha Bowl’ mixed salad with properly brewed leaf tea and homemade lemon and polenta cake to follow. Thoroughly recommended!

Chocolate Galley
18 W High St, CrieffWe visited Chocolate Galley for a chocolate workshop and could've stayed all day. Carol is very knowledgeable and has a passion for what she does, and this was passed on through the workshop. We had a great experience and walked away with loads of chocolate, and the confidence we could even try and do it again at home. We didn't think we'd have time for lunch but we fitted in some delicious soup and a sarnie, with coffees. The whole visit was great, Carol works incredibly hard, as do the team, and we will be back! Go. Support this gem of a place. And try the fermented chocolate, it's delicious.

The Gurkha's
1 E High St, CrieffWe were staying at a lodge at the Crieff Hydro and ordered a take way meal. We had a lamb biriani, a potato and okra main meal,a mixed pakora and naan bread. Although the restaurant is titled as a Nepalese restaurant, the menu is just the usual suspects from an Indian restaurant, however, the execution of the meals was excellent. The sauces had real depth of flavour and more complexity than the usual curry gravy. The bhindi alloo was very generous, and cooked perfectly; not always the case with okra. The lamb was lean and tender The service was prompt too. We actually had enough food left for another meal. The only reason I don't give 5 points is because I was not able to pay over the phone so could not get it delivered as I had no cash, and I eould have liked to have seen some traditional Nepalese dishes on the menu. Really lovely though and would definitely use again.

The Steading Courtyard
Broich Rd, CrieffWe popped in on Sunday on a little run out on the motorbike and had a buffet breakfast (offerred only on a Sunday). You get your toast then head over to the buffet counter and are served whatever you want. I never like everything on a normal breakfast so picking my own was excellent. The potato scone was replaced by hash brown. I do prefer a potato scone but hash brown was a good enough alternative. You also get your hot drink included in the price. It was very busy when we arrived but there are loads of tables. There were a few regulars as the staff and customers all seemed to know each other. This tells you how good this place is. I will be back soon, even though we stay over an hours drive away.

Orchid Chinese Takeaway Crieff
43 King St, CrieffFound ourselves in Crieff and not knowing where to go for dinner. After being disappointed by every sit in restaurant we decided to get a take away and head back to our lodgings for the night. Man who served us was brilliant, made sure we got the best value for money and cheered us up after a gloom evening. Even gave my daughter some free sweets! The food was brilliant. We are Chinese Takeaway snobs and like what we like, but this place is on par with our favourites back home. With the delightful service and yummy food I would recommend anyone near Crieff (or passing) to try The Orchid Chinese Takeaway!
Kid-friendliness: Gave my daughter free haribo sweets to cheer her up after a long, tiring evening.

The Thai Esan
7 James Square, CrieffNot my first visit here but my first review. The food is just so good I thought it deserved a review. The restaurant is run by a Thai couple with the husband acting as front of house and his wife doing some excellent cooking. Thai is my favourite food and I have eaten at many Thai restaurants all around the world (sadly not yet in Thailand) and I really rate and enjoy the food here so it’s now on my radar for repeat visits whenever I am back in Crieff; primarily because the food is tasty, fresh, honest Thai food but the welcome is also warm and it’s a very convenient location in the center of Crieff. If you like Thai food or are keen to try it then definitely give this a go.

Comrie Fish & Chip Shop
1 Dunira St, Comrie, CrieffA traditional chippy atmosphere, food was quickly supplied in a large portion and remained piping hot for the 10 min drive to St Fillans. The fish was excellent, very flavourful, the batter was crisps and the chips soft and supplied in droves. All in all, an excellent experience.
Parking: The shop itself is situated on a corner, however there is some street parking just round said corner and a small car park a little further down
