Muneroy Stores & Tea Rooms
Southend, CampbeltownWe'd heard all about this place from friends and read online about it. We visited at 2pm on a Wednesday in September and, despite the sunny blue skies, the place was emptying out from the lunch folks and we had no problem getting a table. We opted for 'both' - being a lunch item and a cake. Our lunch item was a sandwich and some chips. Both were lovely, a solid 4 out of 5. Next, the cakes.....boy what a choice. Seriously, there must have been a dozen choices. I opted for a chocolate orange sponge, my travelling companion the famous 'full meringue' (despite being warned they're huge and just having had a sandwich). They were both excellent, sponge a solid 9/10 (a touch dry in a couple of spots) and the meringue superb. Service was super friendly - a bit distracted at times, but you have to remove your 'city' head and chill. Definitely would go back.

The Feathers Inn
Cross St, CampbeltownTucked away in the quaint streets of the town, The Feathers Bar is a hidden gem that offers a unique pub experience. It's a place where the absence of food is more than made up for by the quality of its drinks and the warmth of its atmosphere.
As you step through the doors of The Feathers Bar, you're immediately enveloped by a sense of welcome that only a true local haunt can provide. The soft glow of the lights and the gentle hum of conversation create an inviting backdrop for an evening spent among friends.
The bar itself is a marvel, lined with an array of spirits from around the world. The bartenders, with their encyclopedic knowledge of mixology, craft cocktails that are not just drinks but works of art. For those with a love for the hops, the selection of craft beers is both impressive and ever-changing, showcasing the best of local breweries.
The Feathers Bar is not just about the drinks; it's about the experience. The walls are adorned with photographs and memorabilia that tell the story of the establishment's storied past, inviting patrons to become a part of its history. The comfortable seating and intimate nooks provide the perfect setting for deep conversations or a relaxed evening.
Entertainment here is as diverse as the patrons themselves. The sounds of live acoustic sets fill the air on weekends, while the weekdays are reserved for the soft clinking of glasses and the murmur of patrons unwinding after a long day.
What truly sets The Feathers Bar apart is its community spirit. It's a place where everyone knows your name, and newcomers are welcomed with open arms. The staff remember your favorite drink and are always ready with a smile and a friendly word.
In a world where the hustle and bustle can be overwhelming, The Feathers Bar offers a sanctuary. It's a place where time slows down, where you can savor the moment and appreciate the simple pleasures of life. With its exceptional drinks, inviting atmosphere, and friendly faces, The Feathers Bar is not just a pub—it's a cherished retreat from the everyday.

Carradale Hotel
3 Airds, Carradale East, CampbeltownThe room was nice, clean, comfortable bed and very quiet. I overlook the garden and in the distance you can see the sea. Equipped with a kettle with instant coffee and tea and everything needed for showering and shampooing. A hairdryer was missing.
The owners available. The structure appears a little neglected but overall welcoming.

The Old Clubhouse Pub & Restaurant
The Village at Machrihanish Dunes, MachrihanishRight, my experience is purely personal to our visit, as is our opinion of said visit.
We had arrived at the campsite late afternoon. After sorting out our pitch & campervan, we decided to venture into Machrihanish for something to eat & drink as we had been on the road for nearly 5 hours.
We were warmly welcomed into the Old Clubhouse restaurant. Drinks & and menus offered.
We were very hungry & and chose the buffalo chicken / cheese loaded fries.
OMG! We wished we'd ordered to share. They hit the spot, but they were just too much to finish. They were yummy delicious & we couldn't do them justice.
Lovely atmosphere, wonderful staff & great food, with 2 rounds of drinks for under £35.
A great first experience.!
