Could do better. Order was incorrectly delivered which necessitated two main courses being removed and returned 10 minutes later. The food was just warm. Portions were very modest. Roast pork was mostly unrendered pork fat. The two ice creams came in little cardboard tubs. My personal view: the menu flatters to deceive and is generally underwhelming. Amazing meal! Went there to celebrate a special anniversary and the whole experience was exactly that, special. The food on offer is exceptional, the wine list well thought out (including a delightful local wine from a nearby vineyard) and we all had an amazing lunch. If you're anywhere near Colchester then it is well worth a visit.

Wonderful staff, excellent menu and a beautiful English Pub. Sunday Roast was superb. Good wine selection.<br><br>This Antipodean will definitely return.<br><br>Parking: A smallish parking lot.
