Went for a family meal was unsure about the car park with my blue badge so went in enquire the lovely member of staff came out into the cold with me and did it for me and then refused my money off the bill. Lovely service and even better food.
This is a classic pub and has a castle attached. Located at a beautiful spot on the river with sheep on the other side, this was a great find. Alfred Lord Tennyson was a patron when he visited in 1856. The castle turret is what is left and there is a knight on the top on a horse and holding the flag of Wales. Be sure to walk around the back for a good view of it as it makes for a great photo opportunity. They have cask ales and I had a Doom Bar. The fish and chips was good and...read full review
Great proper pub food, we went for Sunday lunch and had beef with all the trimmings. Portions were generous and the views over the river are lovely. Our waitress was attentive and friendly.
