The Anchor Inn

Fabulous food with friendly and helpful staff who create a lovely atmosphere. An accidental find after being refused a meal at the hotel we were staying at. I will always use this plsce whenever I am in the area. A pleasure to visit.

Polite staff, quick service. The only thing that lets them down is the food is hit or miss. The Fisherman's Basket was disappointing (all seafood was battered and a third of the basket was chips) but the Ploughman's Platter was better than expected (generous amounts of everything).

We have been coming to the Anchor for thirty years or more but for no particular reason hadn't been back for a while. Booked a table for 4 at 5.30 last Monday as we had 6 year old granddaughter staying with us. Welcomed warmly by Sean and we shared some memories of years and people gone by.
