Restaurants in Faringdon

The Snooty Mehmaan
Faringdon Road, A420, Littleworth, FaringdonThe room was very nice. The evening food was great.
My only gripe about the hotel would be that I felt very rushed to be out of the restaurant, the staff were watching the table constantly and running over to clear anything that looked like it had finished. I did not feel relaxed.
My breakfast was good aside from the watery beans which were supposed to be marsala flavoured but tasted like the cheapest plain beans you could purchase from a bookers.
One last thing was connecting to the WiFi. My phone scanned the connection before securing to it and informed me that the connection wasn't secure and could be a threat to scams and phishing. So didn't use.
Otherwise, I would say this was a very nice place to visit and the staff were very polite.
Would consider visiting again.

The Faringdon Coffee House
4B Market Pl, FaringdonFirst visit today, cakes looked amazing but we only had a latte and a hot chocolate, both were delicious wayyy cheaper and very much tastier than costa (sorry costa)I was super impressed with the fact they had a dispenser of canderel on the counter , my latte was mild and creamy but not ott on froth, my cousins hot chocolate she said was perfect , unlike some that can be a little bitter.Great craft bits at very reasonable prices that would make ideal giftsWheelchair accessibility: Not wheelchair accessible however I have ms and found the step very much easier as there is a sturdy wall mounted handle at the door, we will be back to sample those lovely looking cakes.

The Trout at Tadpole Bridge
Buckland Rd, Buckland Marsh, FaringdonWe stayed here Friday-Sunday (2 nights) all of the staff were so friendly and nothing was too much trouble, they took the time to chat to us and made ourselves and our dog feel so welcome, while we had our breakfast, Bentley had his allocated sausage breakfast, always bowls of water available. A dog bed and water bowl also available in the room, which was comfy and on the ground floor opening out onto a lovely courtyard, so we could let the dog out onto the grass easily before bed and when we woke up. Lovely walks along the river Thames (a stones throw from the hotel and easily accessible) with a tarmac footpath, so not muddy at all, with stunning views. Check in and check out was seamless and we were even given a complimentary takeaway tea and coffee for our 2 hour drive home. 100% recommend a weekend break in this lovely hotel.

The Eagle Tavern
Little Coxwell, FaringdonI mean…WOW although the menu looks basic, food was amazing, very fresh, and very good quality.
I ordered the lamb and I have never tasted the lamb so tender, and my partner ordered the steak, and he loved it.
This is gonna be my favourite place for now so far!!
Only one FOH staff for the whole evening, and he was very friendly, managed everything very well, very impressed he has done everything himself no matter how busy is it.

The Lamb Tavern, Buckland
Buckland, FaringdonWas there with friends this evening and realised I didn’t have food in at home. Some friends ordered food, so I went for the king prawn chilli linguine in starter size. I love seafood pasta - it’s a go to if I’m cooking at home, but this was stunning. The starter size was quite enough for me to be fair. Prepared and served quickly and with a smile.

Faringdon Kebab Van
Pioneer Rd, FaringdonDecent kebab van, friendly guys working there, they always remember my order even if I haven't been for months. Chicken kebab is decent quality, cooked fresh, good portion sizes too. Chips are not that good. Not the cheapest, but you get what you pay for.

The Woodman Inn
Fernham, FaringdonThe starters were amazing, if you like garlic, defo get the garlic prawn, very garlicky!
My partner got the steak and he enjoyed it, the peppercorn sauce was slightly salty we think.
I ordered the confit duck leg and sadly some part of the meat was quite dry which I couldn’t chew it, a bit disappointed on it, cuz I was looking forward to it.
We shared the cheesecake at the end, not bad, better to share, cuz I don’t think I could finish it myself cuz it’s a bit heavy, tastes good tho.
Extra point is I like the atmosphere there, very cozy and lovely pub.
I’d go back again for drinks only maybe

bp
A420 Shrivenham Rd, FaringdonRegular users of the "roadside chains" for business or mid-journey stopovers but first time at a Mollies. Fantastic experience from start to finish; room was spacious, well furnished, immaculately clean. The bed was huge! Staff were friendly and helpful. Having the 'on-tap' hot/cold drinking water available 24/7 is a huge bonus (and no worrying about how clean the kettle is!) The diner is a real bonus to your stay; and the fact it's as well used by locals as guests says plenty about the quality and choice of food. Wouldn't hesitate to book again.

Costa Coffee
7 Marlborough St, FaringdonI went to Costa in Marlborough st Faringdon today with a client who has learning disability, I was very thirsty but couldn't get my card to work and my client was demanding too much of my attention. I paid for his meals and the ladies on shift offered me a cold drink since it was extremely hot. Thank you for your generosity. It means a lot. ?. I'll recommend more clients in for a drink because I'm sure they'll get good service. ??
