We were renting a house at the other end of the village, so the location was perfect.
Food and drinks: Our table had pork, Schnitzel and a pie. Everyone was very happy with their choice. We went back the following evening to have drinks and dessert in the Red Lion after lunch in another pub.

Falkland Arms
19-21 The Green, Great Tew, Chipping NortonAbsolutely charming pub, in a very popular hamlet, right next to the famous Quince and Clover. Only handful of rooms, but absolutely everything you need, and a fraction of the price of some of the fancy hotels nearby. And they might have more in the way of facilities and cachet, but what the Falkland has got is authenticity. I’ll leave it there.

Being a popular place, getting reservation is highly recommended.
Food was good. We had a late lunch, so they were out of some stuff, but overall a good experience and recommended place!

4 Shipton Rd, Chipping NortonLisa and I stopped for two nights in the Cob suite. A brilliant place to stop over, amazing food and drinks. The staff are great and helpful, and there is nothing that is too much trouble. Banging breakfast. We both will be back and would recommend this as a beautiful place to stay over. 5 stars from us.

The Boxing Hare
Banbury Rd, Chipping NortonBooked for my mothers Birthday. The whole experience was first class from begining to end. Complementary fizz for my mum on arrival, amazing food, smoked Salmon starter and Venison for main and rounded off with the cheese board. Friendly staff who were very polite and not pushy. The pub itself was very nice with a lovely Cotswold view. Could not recommend this place enough and will definitely be back.

Spice Of India
6 West St, Chipping NortonWe were planning on going to a pub in Chipping Norton for tea but you had to book in advance so we ended up coming to the Spice of India. We are so happy that we did because it was honestly one of the nicest Indians we have ever had. The chicken tikka was absolutely delicious as was the madras. The service was incredible and we felt so welcome. We would definitely recommend the Spice of India to anyone visiting Chipping Norton- it was much better service than the pubs and just a generally great atmosphere! Thanks again.

9 Middle Row, Chipping NortonThis is an absolute hidden gem of a restaurant. We discovered it on a whim and found not only reasonable prices, dedicated staff but some of the best food we've had served at a restaurant. The prices are your typical chain restaurant price circa 10-15 for a main although what your served would put many top tier restaurants to shame. The specials are often divine and if you're ever lucky enough for the chicken burger to be on the special, don't pass it up.
Can not recommend highly enough 6*s if possible.

Thai To Go
Worton Rd, Middle Barton, Chipping NortonAbsolutely 5* We were staying in an AirBnB in Enstone and were looking for a last nights stay treat as the local pub serving food was not open, WOW! These guys did not disappoint. The starters and the mains turned up piping hot, on time and were absolutely delicious. We will definitely order again when we stay at Enstone again.

The Kingham Plough
The Grn, Kingham, Chipping NortonWe had a lovely one night stay here and booked dinner too.
Our room was so nice with a large en-suite bathroom, beautiful village view and a lovely selection of fresh coffee, teas and the most delicious cookies which were a wonderful addition! Fresh milk was delivered in the morning too which was lovely and really nice toiletries and very comfy bed!
Dinner was very tasty and made better by the fact our waitress had a look of the Harry Potter quidditch teacher and she was so bubbly and friendly plus gave great menu recommendations.
Breakfast was quite a small portion and toast came out cold sadly but other than that we had a great stay and enjoyed a walk around the village the next day.
Oh and a great country magazine was in the room which was a nice touch! Would stay here again if in the area.

7 Horse Fair, Chipping NortonI've known this restaurant for 22 years over which time the food has varied between good and great. I visited in September 2024 and am delighted to report that although they have a slightly reduced number of tables from a few years ago, the food is at it's absolute best (praise indeed for a Thai restaurant!)
My partner and I had the Ceria Meal for two which comprised three courses and three mains for the main course. Fantastic value when compared to pubs locally who seem to think it acceptable to charge £15-20 for a main course and then charge extra for side-dishes ....

18 West St, Chipping NortonAbsolutely amazing cannot recommend enough, we visited the Cotswolds in a camper van for the first time. The landlord Barry was so accommodating and lovely,we definitely will be back. Proper English pub vibes pool table,darts board and sky sports which my partner was happy about and the only pub in chipping Norton showing the football. The bar staff were amazing 10 out of 10 from us. Many thanks

The electric charging station at the pump, as on many other shell station was a complete failure as always and was not working despite showing on app as working. Were it not for Bilal, I would have been stuck miles away from home. Thanks a million.

3 Market St, Chipping NortonHi Tanya Fulker, I’m so sorry that you’re not happy with what you have received from your order tonight, but I have to tell you that we have double checked the meal you have returned, there is no onion at all, they’re Chinese leaves and leek, just like I said in the phone when you called back to complain. About the £1.40 you’ve mentioned, this is the price in difference of what you wanted later on, you wanted to change one meal to two instead. Hope you would enjoy the food in other places.
