Caffè Nero in Stafford town centre is spacious and bright, with large picture windows looking out on to the street. The interior is smart enough but I thought that more effort could have gone into clearing and cleaning tables, particularly as the cafe wasn’t overly busy. The counter service was very good. Similarly, our coffees and sandwiches were of the high quality we expect of the chain and we enjoyed a lazy half hour or so watching the rest of the world go by.

They must be understaffed. Usually it's great, but lately the majority of tables are dirty or filled with used trays and cups. Takeaway cups only even when drinking in. Longer queues at the till even with both staff working hard to fill all of the orders.All in all. It's not its usual self.
