Wouldn't go anywhere else for a Sunday roast in or around St Albans...great portion sizes and spread of veg and accompaniments, we never leave hungry! The meat on the last occasion we ate there was ever so slightly dry, but we've never had a bad meal there.
Just had a lovely lunch at this hidden little village pub. Jen the bar girl couldn’t have been more helpful and very friendly. We had two pints of Moretti lager and a delicious warm fresh baguette filled with thick slices of hand cut ham, cheese and mixed salad all for £30 which we thought was very reasonable. Good service, lovely outdoor garden seating and very relaxed atmosphere. Will definitely be going back when in the area.
after years in the wilderness ( Australia?) I found a good old English pub, old style building next to a small church. Lots if authentic wood beams and ( not too) low ceilings. Smaller range of traditional beers than I’d expected but enough to slake a thirst. Menus looked ok service ok. Recommend and would go again.
