D'vine Restaurant and Social Bar

We were stopping in York for a couple of nights, and booked this restaurant for dinner and the menu looked great.<br><br>We were greeted and sat down straight away into a semi-full restaurant. Our drinks order was taken and these arrived swiftly. We opted for the three course set menu (three courses for £25, it's hard to say no to that!). We visited mid-afternoon and the restaurant was empty, so I can't comment on the atmosphere.<br><br>The food was really good, my only criticism was the optional service charge that was automatically added to the bill, as there were only two of us eating. It seems to be an increasingly common thing for restaurants to add in a service charge - this isn't the USA and UK staff earn enough money to live off - a service charge should only be added to tip staff...read full review

Ooh this was lovely! Great that this place had a gluten free menu too! We stayed a night in York, never having done so before and was a bit stumped for tea. So we just wandered through the streets and came across D'vine on Swinegate.
