Brownsover Fish Bar

Normally chips are well cooked and brown and crispy, unlike others that are still white and soggy. We always get 2 cod roe, scampi and chips. Only takes 5 mins to cook the roe and scampi. Also a large sausage for the dog. Good value.

Went in yesterday and ordered a large mixed chicken kebab meal, and oh my gosh, it was amazing! The meat was succulent, juicy, and oh so flavourful! Perfect amount of charring providing a beautiful umami flavour. It was cooked to perfection ? Lovely and tender, no fatty bits, gristle or bone like in a lot of other chip shop kebabs. If you come here, you've got to try one! Good portions, fresh salad, and friendly staff, what more could you want! :)

Was looking for the best chippy in rugby. Today was the turn of brownsover chippy. What a great venue. Queues were average, but soon cleared, due to the great staff. Vast array of item on menu. But all were on separate signs. So easy to find what you looking for. We went for the fish again, with chips. So both ordered them. Courteous staff. And so quick. Got them back home and noticed how golden brown the batter was not overcooked. And certainly not soggy. Chips are fantastic....read full review
