Ume Restaurant

This restaurant is always very quiet but we decided to give it a go and we are so pleased we did. The decor is not at all upmarket but reminded me so much of days long past hanging around back streets of Hong Kong. Service at Ume comes with a lovely smile, which seems rare when eating out in the Esher area. The food is cooked fresh and is delicious. We went for the set menu with duck, beef and prawns - £25 per person. Very reasonable. We will be returning. Highly recommended.

Our regular 'go to' Chinese was shut for summer holidays and so had to make a last minute alternative for a takeaway. Very convenient as a 3 minute drive away (don't bother with delivery unless your are a lot further away and then if you are there has to be something else as good more local). Always enjoy the food from here particularly the sweet and sour chicken balls in batter and the crispy beef. I always collect rather than ask for delivery which I prefer so I get the food quicker.
