The Longs at Steeple Ashton

Visiting family in Westbury, and thought we’d give this country pub a visit as only 10 minutes away, and menu looked good. We sat in the main bar area, which was popular with locals, and had a good atmosphere. Food and service were excellent, portions were generous, stand-outs being the Fritto misto (batter very light), homemade pie (beef brisket and vegetables), and the Eton mess. Would definitely look to come again when next visiting.

What's not to like? A delightful village pub, with better-than-the-average food. In fact, there's an expansive menu which changes from season to season, but with some firm and regular favourites you're sure to find something to suit your own tastes. We went here as a large group to celebrate a family birthday- they were so accommodating and the service was really good in terms of letting us bring cake and coming over to order more drinks but the food was terribly slow!<br>Food in my opinion is as good as it’s going to get in this local area but some members of the party didn’t love their meals.<br>In terms of atmosphere and setting, I think you’d be pushed to find better locally.
