The setting is lovely and the food was outstanding. Once we were seated, our server was attentive and helpful. We did have to wait awhile for our table, even though we had booked and the restaurant did not seem busy. We had an email voucher for a free dessert, which our server took extra steps to honor. Overall, we had a very good experience.
A step up from average pub grub but not quite gastro pub, if that makes sense. Tasty and decent servings with reasonable choices, friendly staff. Bit of a barn so not much atmosphere on a Monday evening when quiet. Fine for 2 friends chatting.
Server messed up our order by entering in too many items. We called into his attention that we didn’t order 4 servings of scallops. When the bill arrived, we had been charged for his mistakes. By then he had disappeared and a nice young woman helped us to fix the bill.
