Axe & Cleaver Inn

A table was booked for 7:30pm on a Saturday evening. We arrived promptly (4 of us and a dog) and were told that it was a 45 minute wait for food, we were fine about that and were then told to sit anywhere we wanted in the bar area. The whole pub was quiet and we couldn’t understand why the 45 minute wait was applicable. Hidden gem, the food is excellent, homemade chips even on kids meal, good size meals well cooked. Staff friendly. Outside there is a large field with zip line and play area.<br>We will be returning.<br>Edited this review, because we did return and again still excellent.

Excellent choice of food, especially for veggies and vegans. Highly recommend a visit.<br><br>Vegetarian options: Many options and much, much better than anywhere in the area. Proper veggie/vegan choices!
