Riverside Traditional Fish And Chips Bakewell

We were visiting Bakewell and fancied some fish n chips. Was very impressed by the food! Light and crispy batter around a soft succulent fish. The chips were lovely and crispy, not one was left! Enjoyed it very much!

Not sure why this has only 3.5 stars ? Has the chippy recently changed ownership? Genuinely the best Haddock and chips , mushy peas snd curry sauce for miles around. The Haddock and chips were both cooked to perfection - and the batter was thin crispy and tasty - equally delicious! Very generous portion sizes especially the sizes of haddock we were given. If your visiting Bakewell and fancy some top quality British staple fare then Riverside is a must try!

How has this place only got 3.5 stars?? Visited here when in Bakewell last week, following another long walk we both fancied fish and chips. All I can say is that this has to be the best chippy we've had for years - lovely chips, not too fat nor were they greasy. The fish (we had cod) was amazing, lovely thick piece covered in the lightest / crunchiest batter, which is never a good thing as I then tend to eat too much!! Would be sure to return if ever nearby again?
